I have an idea.
Let's throw a few Drones in the Mix and say we are training the Ukrainians to fly them, (wink, wink).
Hell, let's just threaten to do it.

For your viewing pleasure the upgraded A10 Warthog.

My all time favorite. Story I heard.
Engines on prototypes were beefed up to match the gatling gun. At low speed the gun could stall the hog.

Mine only gets 15 before I pull the boat but I’m only going a couple miles to the launch.👍🏻 My boat and trailer don’t weigh 1200 lbs so it don’t affect my mileage much.😂

Mine gets 14 on a good day, no trailer.
You doing fine.

Any unattended lines are illegal here, no limb lines, jug lines, or long lines allowed in freshwater AT ALL.

Good rule.

At least the weather forecast was right. Beautiful day today. Water level report was wrong, about 1.5ft BELOW normal, not high as reported. Whenever you have to drive off the ramp to get the boat off the trailer, it's not a good start. Water temperature only 53°, and not much life in the shallows, at least the ones I could get into. There's only 3 good deepwater spots there, and there were 3 or 4 boats on all of them, all day. I fished most of my warmer water spots and only managed 2 smaller Rockbass. I did play a little game with a nice Largemouth, but she wouldn't commit. She chased a jointed Rapala to the boat twice, I threwback a chatterbait, and she chased that to the boat, I threwback a lizard, and a swimming Dinger, but she wasn't interested and took off. So close, yet so far. I even went back about 2hrs later but never saw her again. I decided to call it and headed for the ramp during a quiet spell. It only took 5 tries to get the boat on the trailer straight. Have I ever said that I hate that ramp. Oh well, maybe next time.
At least the weather forecast was right. Beautiful... (show quote)

Better next time is how I fly. Maybe you should sneak a couple night crawlers on that boat for the bait chaser that won’t commit.

I have had them crawl into my airflow compartments in my truck and I had a heck of a time getting them to leave it. I had to duct tape the vents into the cab off then shot it full of Ether and disassemble air ducts to remove the dead squirrels. A family of squirrels were holding up in my boat too and baited some poisoned pecans to rid them from it. Wood ants were busy too and I used a bag of wood ant poison on them. I really had a battle with critters trying to make a home in my poor boat and my truck. Then I took the boat to a car wash to clean junk out of my boat.

Just some of the acorns in my car. I smelled something burning.

I know it is hard on my boat. I have a custom cover, but I don’t cover it. It is out in the open at my dock. The Bald Eagles keep an eye on it. I saw a mink climbing around on it. An eagle dropped out of a tree. The mink abandoned ship quickly. I expect squirrels have the same problem.

Had to completely rewire a boat once. Big waste of time.

That’s a dream day! Hopefully you’ll get back to that spot again, some of the best fishing I’ve ever had had been after a tuff hike, congrats Jwid! What awesome day you had! Hard work always pays off! Good luck and be safe!!

Thanks, lots of water going over and I opened the valve in October. So the creek which normally has an interrupted and minor flow except in heavy rain, has had plenty of water. The creek flows into a river that flows into a large, 8400 acre, Lake Wappapello. Eventually, makes it into the Mississippi River around Memphis. The fish found me.

One of those places you hear people talk about. But you never find out where it is. Maps are made with “x” marks the spot. Ivey has a spot like this. Sunday I found the spot. I always figured it was there, but as I looked at the rough terrain I didn’t think it was worth the effort. Wrong! I thought I would need a collapsible pole to make it through. Wrong! St. Croix in one hand and leatherman tool in the other. All the tackle that fits in pockets or attached to my hat and off I went.

Had to cut my way through the brambles, barbwire type vines, some branches, and chase some snakes of rocks that were sunning on the only way to where I was trying to get to.
It is just 100 yards from my house, but took 30 minutes to get there. I am sure no one has been on these rocks for years.

Four hours. 50 fish. Five fish cut 20lb power pro on sharp rocks. Two large smallmouth were dropped trying to get a picture. Phone survived.

The bluegill x’d out not part of the bounty. Last bass at the bottom was from a climb down the creek further.

White swimbait, black spinner, chartreuse spinner, were popular. Only a small selection and one pole. Hike was too rough to bring the whole store. Had a whopper popper ripped off my hat somewhere. Maybe I’ll find it someday. For now I’m off to BP to replace some inventory.

One for the books. Looking forward to going again soon.

This one was hanging out in the still water. Current made fishing the creek difficult. There aren’t any breaks to get to water.

When it rains for a couple days there is ten more feet of water where I am standing.

Found a deer path that helped a little.

Snake didn’t care about me. I used my rod to move it along.

I grew up with a spinning reel and still have it, but I decided to try a baitcaster and now they are my go to. I still drown night crawlers with the spinning gear, but everything else is bc.

I’ve been keeping my head down and in a little funk lately, so I called in sick yesterday and went for some fishing therapy. They were hitting hard at every cast; it was crazy! I didn’t catch any bigguns, but I got 68…yes, that’s right, 68! of these little gems, all around .75 to 1.5 lb. I was almost embarrassed to say how many because it was just ridiculous to me. A fist time experience, for sure. Best therapy ever, at a beautiful, quiet spot - just me, the herons, beaver, osprey, snapping turtles and plenty of bass. Can’t wait to take my grandson there. 😁

Congratulations on getting what you needed. Catching a load of fish like that is a big bonus.

In Missouri if the body of water is fed from a creek, stream, or river from outside the private property you need a license. Hopefully the state uses the collected license fees wisely. Why would you risk not being properly licensed?

Hey Old Guy,

How often do you issue new tyvek suits?

This guy looks like he has had that one on for a month. Or is wearing something out of the trash a personal choice?
