Make sure to rinse your rod, reels, and tackle ASAP after fishing saltwater. It's very corrosive. (using fresh water)
Probably want to use a bit of a leader too. Can get lots of snags on rocks on the jetties.

I fish Oneill Forebay for stripers. Last week got 12 on saturday, 14 on monday using a Zoom super salty fluke, 4". Also have had good luck using a Johnson silver spoon with a small trailer, and a Zara Spook. Working grass beds and the edges. When trolling or fishing more open water, a 6" Heddon stick bait. White or silver works best in my lake.
Heading back Monday to see if I can do even better as the solunar table says it's an "excellent" day for fishing. Good luck!

Yea I've caught a few largemouth out of there. Especially working a scum frog across the grass in the evening.
Going to try a Johnson silver spoon in the grass next week. They were busting all over in the hydrilla that was all the way to the top, but couldn't get anything in there that didn't snag up. Hoping the old "tried and true spoon" will get 'em.

Had a good day at O'neill Forebay. Got 6 stripers, 5 on my ultra-light rig with Zoom silver fluke and 1 on a Heddon shallow crankbait. All of them about the same size, around 20". Lot's of big splashes/misses which kept it exciting. Fishing the edges of the hydrilla. I highly advise this impoundment, just check on the wind conditions before going. Can get really rough and they have a light warning system. Once the light goes red, all boats must be off the water.

1st fish of the day.

What were you catching them on? And where? I caught 2 large mouth on the back side of a small island on the south end of warm springs arm. Used a shade colored curly tail minnow.

What part of the lake are you fishing? What baits have been most effective. Thinking of making the drive up from Oakland. Thanks
