A buddy of mine has had that happen to him and his 89 year old pop in law before. He found out that those pickup truck beds with the square holes in them that are open on the bottom will accommodate a lot of small fishes like croakers. He also started carrying a jar of Vaseline to lube up their door handles. In other words, It's really not a good idea to mess with a Vietnam Vet (Special Forces) and his peace of mind. Please don't try this at home.

We have many here in Louisiana. We call them 'chupeak' spelling? Lots of fun on rod and reel, they tend to love shiny baits. Not invasive here, not sure if there. You can eat them, the meat is much like cotton, all ground up. The way they cook them is 'fried' surprise. Clean, roll up in to balls, with pepper, and onion, roll in fish fry, cook. Not bad.

Hi H. T. Fudpucker,
Do they taste anything like a garball when cooked like that? If so I will try um.

Down here in Lower Alabama they are know as Bowfin or Grinnel. Never herd of anyone eating them. They still have rodeo's here for them b'cause they do eat a lot of game fish

Fished Sunday afternoon in Mobile Delta. Winds were 20 mph+ from south. Found one here and one there drop fishing. Finally found the orgy. Bluegills, shellcrackers and goggle eye on the same bed. I haven't found a bed this big in years. Kept what I wanted and left them biting. May take my brother tomorrow or next day.
