BadBobby was seated next to a Mormon on a flight from Salt Lake City to Houston. After the plane was airborne, drink orders were taken. BB asked for a glass of Jack Daniels, which was promptly brought and placed before him.

The flight attendant then asked the Mormon if he would like a drink. The Mormon replied in disgust, "I'd rather be savagely raped by a dozen crazed whores than let liquor touch my lips."

BB then handed his drink back to the attendant and said, "I'll have the same, I didn't know we had a choice."

Thing is that the Mormon could have had a dozen wives. I think some of them still believe in more than one wife.

How many of us carry a handgun in our tackle? Whether it’s authorized or not.

I carry concealed all the time. I have a small 9mm, Kimber Micro 9, that I carry in my pocket. Nobody has ever asked if it was a gun in my pocket. I do have a concealed carry license as well. I'm one of them old Marines that still prepares for the worst and hopes for the best. At home I keep a Remington 870 Tactical locked and loaded with #4 buckshot. Some would say that I'm paranoid but I live by myself way back in the woods. 911 is anywhere from 2 minutes to 20 minutes out.

I was a certified NRA Personal Protection instructor and Chief Training Officer in my gun club. I hope I don't ever have to use my firearms or my training but I don't want to get caught unprepared. These are troubling times.

I fish for bass at night. The lake I fish is a large impoundment and there are houses with docks all over the lake. I fish mostly the lighted docks but I catch bass around the unlighted docks as well. Navigate by the lights reflecting off the water. As long as you see light reflecting off the water you're safe.

I use KVD 1.0 crankbaits in shad coloring and plastic worms. Junebug has been my most productive color.

Let’s try this, going night fishing. You can take one lure, not two or three, one. What ya taking. Now you can take two identical lures in case you lose the first but have to be identical. What’s it gonna be boys and girls?

Texas rigged junebug worm for bass. Fish slow and noisy.

If you Google "Sputterbug" you'll see pictures of original Sputterbug lures. You'll see that some have skirts while others don't. Apparently the lures were made in both configurations. Maybe the skirt was added on in later years of production.

I's stationed at a Navy communications station in Eritrea in the early 70's, there was a not very well organized revolution going on at the time. The guerrillas (known as shiftah or "shifties" as we called them) had been messing around in our antenna field (molesting our goat for all know) so we built a sand bag bunker up on the roof of the building and us dumb ass sailors were sent up there to stand a watch at night with an M1 helmet and a BAR with 20 rounds in the clip. We were given zero training on how to fire the damned thing, I guess we were supposed to figure that out on our own. Never did get to fire one. I remember thinking at the time, man how would you like lugging this thing around in the mud? What a beast.

Just read a post about a Jitterbug. It made me start wondering: What were other peoples go to lures for bass in the 60's?
My tackle box always had a 1 jitterbug, 2 hula popper, 3 lazy Ike,4 mepps spinner,5 dare devil,6 jar of small pork frogs (no longer able to find), 7 and a pack of dark floating 7 inch rubber worms. A few of those lures I never used in California. I had them from Minnesota when I was just a pup rather than a dedicated fisherman in high school. I now have a large 14 box soft bag for salt and another for fresh water fishing as well as a stack of switch out Plano boxes in my cave. Surprisingly, I would still go with a plastic worm for bass if I could only choose one lure, only wacky style. Seven lure arsenal. today it would be. 1 Wacky worm in green pumpkin, 2 floating fat rebel black back silver , 3 ned rig 1/8 oz., 4 flicker shad in fire tiger, 5 seven inch floating purple worm, 6 frog, 7 chatter bait black worm. I am looking for comparisons for 7 original lures, only one lure and 7 lure modern box. Enjoy your entire year fishing in a one tray tackle box.

Back around 1964 I discovered you could catch bass on a rubber worm. Wow! The ones I used were called Fliptail worms. They were about 7" long and I only remember them being available in black and purple. I caught a lot of bass on those worms before discovering girls and the Marines discovering me. VBG! My "go to" lure today is a Texas-rigged 7½" Junebug worm. Still catching bass with them. Rapala minnows were available and good as well.

Yes, I got to figger out a way to mount the phone. I'm old and I can't handle a fish in one hand while fiddling with a phone in the other. I need to be able to get it done before the fish dies and without winding up in the water myself. After all, I'm there to fish, not take pitchers. VBG! I think I'll order one of them Weathertech cup holder cell phone holders. That should hold the phone.

I've come to the conclusion that what I caught was a Spotted Bass. A lot prettier than the Largemouth Bass I been catching.

Thanks Guys for helping me figger out what it was.

Don't know about a tongue patch. I just unhooked him, took a look at him, then released him. Other than the coloring there was nothing else impressive about him. Probably a small spotted bass. I think they have some in that lake but I'm not sure. I wrote a wildlife expert that used to work for the DNR at that station. He should know what species of bass are in the lake.

The dark area along the lateral was solid, not broken anywhere. Just a jagged solid dark line. Thats what got me looking, the darkness of this line. The fish was small weighing about a pound maybe. I release all the fish I catch.

The colors on the fish looked like the colors a taxidermist paints on a mounted fish. The bass that come out of this lake are a bit darker than those of other lakes in the area. I contribute this to the clear water. All the other lakes in this area are stained to muddy.

One peculiarity about this lake is since it's fed by a small creek the lake level will drop when we don't get a lot of rain. In order to maintain a full pool level they pump water in from the Ocmulgee River that runs past Juliette. I guess it's possible that the fish might have gotten in the lake through this method but I don't know if it could survive coming through the pumps.
