Looks like the float/sensor is built in to the pump. When you turn it on manually you should hear it run. If you put water in the bilge it should turn on by itself.
The pump just running is not enough! Does it pump is what you want to confirm! And the only way to do that is to put water in the bilge and see it yourself . Good luck, be safe.

Well, I'm glad that you've got the proof you needed, to feel better about putting it in the water! Reckon I'll be "unchecking" the "watch topic box", directly. Y'all have a good day today & a better one tomorrow!!
Good luck with it all, D-25... Don't forget your "✓-list"... Things that you ABSOLUTELY want to be sure have happened, before you "throw them lines". ... Good luck y good catching!
Two easiest ways are to lift the float and listen and touch the pump, the better way, so u check piping etc. is to park boat with stern way below bow, and add a little water, with a good tilt, not much else gets wet.
Getting the new ( to me) boat up and running and wondering how do i check to make sure automatic bilge pump works without filling the bilge with water? I look on you tube and they have a million videos on how to replace a bilge pump but not how to just test it.
Make several sandbags out of cheap plastic ( baggies ). Surround the pump and float switch with the bags creating a berm around it. Then flood the switch with water. It should float and turn the pump on. Caution: Check the switch periodically for mold, mildew or bilge crap that could prevent it from floating. Go first class--get the Rule pump and switch.

It is a Rule pump bobber...this one has an internal float.
