Just my opinion but you don’t sound retired to me. 😂

Hey fish, looks can be deciving, I havent had a (job) since 1999. Officially retired, but not inclined. I stay busy, I cant sit around and do nothing. I choose the tasks that do, most things I do according to weather conditions. I have fished in wilting heat and cold that water in eyelets an reel would freeze making it dificult to cast. I'll soon be 73 years old and i can't handle the extreme conditions like even 10 years ago. I'm still not going to laze around. My style of fishing has evolved to being more comfortable, enjoy the day. Retired yes, still active
YES. Keep fishing. DEEJAY

Try telling your wives/girlfriends
that you've been working a side job as a male escort/gigolo for extra cash and 'pimping out' her three best friends as well !

Guaranteed to get a reaction -
just not one you might like !

Pay cash burn the receipts. Go to Walmart with her and buy a couple $1.99 lures. If you loose a $15 lure, you say you gota go to Walmart. If her sister tells her that her husband spent $70 last year on lures, you say that’s a lot of Walmart trips. Mushrooms, grow mushrooms.

That's right = cash ONLY (for that which MIGHT wanna "cause friction") and Sgt. Schultz would KNOW what to say, if ASKED!

I just tell my wife your going to have a hell of a garage sale when I'm gone. I usually tell her this is stuff I have to have and I get one of those looks. If you just shove a few things in the cart under the paper towels sometimes you get away with it.

HemiHappy: I am surprised that you and all my other friends on Fishing Stages don't set up a spread sheet in your PC. There list each piece of tackle, what you paid for it, and what you believe it would be worth at a used
market sale.....for when you pass. Of course, over time you should revise the prices if you are using different items heavily. Just Sayin....RJS

RJ I have been left behind by technology and I have to do things like that long hand. It is a great idea though I have done that with a coin collection so my wife won't be left in the dark or taken advantage of by some slick dealer offering her half what something is worth. I belong to a fishing club who knows values and helps when a member goes on. (We have a lot of old codgers) I think I will look into doing what you recommend. Thanks

Well be careful! My wife’s father had remarried after Jeans mother died. The lady he married became crippled and then immobile other than having a caretaker!

When Jeans father died we were supposed to pick up his large coin collection as well as his pistol. Since it looked crass to be walking out of the house with his belongings, we chose to wait. Well the caretaker and her boyfriend stole the lot. Also his widow did not us to call the police as they might return and she was helpless. I expect the total loss never reported was between 20 & 30000, Just Sayin... RjS

Jeez, RJS; I'm sure sorry to hear of your loss (although, I'm ASSUMING that he didn't pass on, recently), but to have theives pull something like that, and adding insult to injury can be a difficult thing to forgive.
I've had unfortunate experience, along similar lines (not involving coins, but; a shotgun.)
