did your dad ever get you to try pickled herring?
No , I learned that one on my own. First school I taught at had a bar we'd go to on Friday pms. The always had it for happy hour. Great with a cold brew and saltines.
Canned corned beef about like potted ham i think
If you like canned corned beef hash then you can take a can of the corned beef, add your own potatoes, onions, peppers, whatever - that's definitely a step up from the canned hash.

Didn't think the Fluffernutter was still around. Now I have to go shopping. "Darn you Fred!"
The fluffanuter is classic ask any 6 year old
3 - 12oz cans of ham and eggs, 8 - 16oz bottles of water, bag of beef jerky, 16oz container of cornmeal, 16oz bottle of Olive oil, cayenne pepper, 2 - eggs, a fry pan and Coleman stove. Just in case I catch some fish. That will keep me going from sunup to sundown and sometimes all night.
Always have at least one trash bag in the truck. Amazing how much trash you can pick up.

I don't know what you guys are doing fishing or having a picnic. I am to busy fishing to worry about food. I take 3 plastic bottles of water and a can of coke. I squeeze the air out of the empty bottles and the can smashed all fit in my pocket. I may take 6 soft mint balls once in awhile which fits in my shirt pocket.
