Sooner would be alot better than later, the longer they take to act the worse it's going to be and the longer the recovery to a healthier stock!

Quit keeping the female crabs! How are you going to increase the crab population when allowed to the females............

Nope, soft crabs are nothing more bait to us. Neither of us will eat them and this time of year they're a great White perch bait where we fish. Since the 3 people that used to eat them have passed they're bait now unless we run into Andy and we hae some. I have a place that I can run my roller net and get 6 or so each full moon cycle.

Didn't know there were soft shell crawfish. That would make a good sub sandwich.

I've had soft shelled lobster! Excellent but I prefer the blue crab.

NOTHING, NOTHING ,NOTHING BETTER THAN A FRIED SOFT SHELL CRAB. They are expensive and hard to come by now. Prepared just right and the slaw perfect.
