J.G. Boswell farming empire owns a lot of it.

For info on the ongoing battle see:

That’s sounds like a bad situation all the way around for everyone involved but if the leaders v**e to cut the leevee for the greater good I don’t think it’s to much to ask for replacement of wh**ever it destroyed regardless of who owns it whether it’s a small time farmer local residents or a business

I would argue that Tulare is only the 2nd largest lake west of the Mississippi. California had a much larger one (500+ square miles) in 1862.

Here's a good article on it...

That was a mega flood you're talking about Papa not a lake , Tulare Lake was here for thousands of years , fed by the rivers I mentioned, Man began diverting the rivers into canal and levee systems so the River water never reached the lake, in the last 150 years Others & Boswell began pumping the lake water to also use it to irrigate his 150,000 acre farm until it dried up, it is not a flood plain ! But Mother Nature has a way of coming back to reality, the Tulare Lake was over 1,000 square miles large .

If it was just leased shouldn’t the lease have ran out by now and it became back state property

Boswell Corporation & Salyer Farms have been in Court Battle for many years now, RT please Google JG Boswell in California so you can know why this issue bothers me , I'm half Mescalero Apache, and half Mexican American ,in totality at one time this was Native Country, so when I do take issues with my now local Tribesmen I dig in with All my Heart & Soul, has nothing to do with the rest of the Country, I'm entrenched with our People ,I hope you can understand Sir.

Definitely I think natives were done wrong all over this country I can understand why they’re upset but them only everyone else is here from choice or there own people sold them to be here my parents do missionary work in montano with the natives and I understand you not liking the corporate farmers just from what I gather it’s more your state leaders and the progress of man fault to try to build cities than the farmers fault but I’ll look more into it like you suggested

Good night buddy I said I understand what you’re saying I just don’t understand why you’re upset with the farmer that built the empire instead of your government but I suppose you have your reasons

Who feeds their pocketbooks? Have you ever worked on Farms? Are you a Politician or a Farmer? A resident or citizen that has to support both. Farmers could of became politicians if they didn't like Gambling on the weather, climate, and supply and demand. Noone owes them anything. All the natural rivers were ruined for them so now they get to live with reality.

oh I'm sure there are enough farms around to pick up the slack if a couple flood just saying if they don't share their profits with tax payers in good years why expect them to bail out in bad years. farming is a tough business but as with all business the one who takes the risks stands to both make or lose the most and it is not up to the tax payer to bail them out which I believe is what jarheadfishingfool was talking about

Thank You for explaining reality to some DC. You are exactly right in my opinion.
