what school choice is this? it does not sound like a good bill. but I do support school choice. I support the money following the students to what ever school they go to private, charter or private. will not cost more just where it is spent.

If it costs money to go to a private school the parent should have to pay for that not tax money That's my opinion

it cost money to go to puplic schools and a lot of them are doing lousy jobs so why not give the per child cost to the parents so those that can't afford to send their kids to a better private school can? after all they are tax payers to and should be able to send their kids to a good school as well. again it will not cost taxpayers more just allow poorer kids to get a good education as well

Here is why I support having the school funding follow the student to which ever school they go to.
Here is Washington state we (the tax payers) spend on average of $11,500 per student in the public school system, most of this amount is what I am in favor of giving to the schools the student goes to. I am not talking about paying the whole private, or charter school costs or giving more than what the cost may cost if less. Here is why, and maybe things are different in your nec of the woods than out here in the west coast but here is what are schools have become in our state and most of the west coast.

1. In the public schools all teachers are required by law to go through CRT training. This means the students will be taught from the perspective that all kids of color are going to fail in life because they are the victims of institutional r****m, on the other hand all white students will be taught from the perspective that they are oppressors and are responsible for mistreating and oppressing people of color if they realize it or not.
2. Students are taught as early as kindergarten that they should explore their g****r identity to see what g****r they want to be
3. They bring in “d**g q***ns” for “fun” reading times and encourage kids to read books that promote gay lifestyle
4. Often the teachers are overtly political
5. Schools are no longer responsive to the concerns of the parents just their own agenda

So here is the thing I don’t want my kids or grandkids to go to school to be indoctrinated by a social agenda that is on the left side of the spectrum. I want them to learn the Math, reading, writing, an accurate and honest rendering of history (good, and bad but complete and accurate not one sided), honest teaching of science learning how to think critically, Sadly this is no longer the case in a lot of public schools. By allowing the parents to take the money and apply it to the schools of their choice it will bring some sort of competition to the education system and the bad schools will fail and go out of existence and the good ones will flourish.

I fully agree with you, but that was not what my post was about. This bunch wants to set up a separate multi billion doller organization to take in donations and dole out education choices on a first come basis. This sounds to me like a power and money grab.

so is this a private organization or some government program? is it run like a scholarship deal or means tested? or just a version of the gold rush? as you put it, it does sound like it is ripe for curruption

things must really be different in Ohio, out here school boards have very little power to change anything it is all through unelected school officials and the state board of education. As long as the left has such a strangle hold on things there will never be a change, they see schools not as a means of educating children but a means of indoctrinating them, the only way that things will change is if there is competition where the dollars and students can go else where, the only v****g that will really matter will be the v****g with their feet as they leave then as they see enrolments and the corresponding dollars decline, then and only then will they care about what the parents want for their children's education. Now we have a declining enrolment as those that have the means are leaving for private schools or home school but the money the public schools get remain the same so they really don't care.
