Well I finally got my boat back together after replacing the fuel tank all the fuel lines and removing all the carpet and applying a rubber granular paint on the floors. So concerning the help I’m needing I had it in the water yesterday and when I turned on my fish finder everything seemed find. But towards the end of my outing the numbers the indicates the depth started blinking. And now that’s all it does. The temp and speed numbers seem to be ok. And it’s showing 60’ sitting in my yard. (blinking) It’s the Lowrance Elite-5. This is something out of my wheel house. When it comes to electronics I’m about as smart as a rock…😜have any of you had a similar problem with your FF…🐟o

Make sure you have the transducer mounted on the quiet side of the prop. Check you depth and angle. My Lowrance
does that at higher speeds occasionally. Nice job on the boat.

I have a bird and it warns against dry running your transducer, could damage them. Otherwise I would double check your battery connections. That’s all I can offer. Good luck and let us know what happens.
i assume it worked fine before you renovated your boat and it is installed where it was?
Thanks again guys, appreciate all the positive feedback on the renovation of my boat. As far as my FF dilemma I’ve pretty much done everything I can think of, everything that all you guys suggested that I should check and all of the resets suggested on you tube. So I’ll have to see if I can figure it out when I get it on the water…🐟on

Yeah, Kerry. I was working fine when I had it out on Thursday until I was coming back to the dock to load up. And it wasn’t moved or disturb during my renovation. So I’m not sure what’s going on with it…🐟on
I was under the impression that you should never turn them on out of the water. Could the transducer be what the call “burned out” ?

I have heard that but I have a question, have you ever watched Bass fishing on TV? Does anyone notice the big screen or 2 up on the bow of those awesome boats? Now, when they move from place to place on the lake, they pull up the trolling motor (where the transducers are mounted for those bow screens) , and power to the next spot.
In 40 yrs of watching fishing on TV, I have NEVER, EVER, EVER, seen anyone bend over and shut off any unit, or even put them on standby. If it damages transducers, why doesn't ANYONE turn them off???

I have left my on by mistake and drove 20 mile to home then discovered I didn’t turn it off , and it still working, hook2 Lowrance 🎣🎣🎣🐟🐟🐠🐠🐋🐋🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅
I have Lowrance too. This happens when transducer gets moved/bumped/lose and out of position. Move it back and tighten it down. Inside hull??? No idea.

I've had siunders for years and there's no problem them being out of water. If it's on auto range it will just be searching for a signal

The transducer never got moved. It was working fine when I launched. It was in the water when it started blinking and acting up…🤷♂️🐟on

Thanks, BD. Yeah I’ve been searching YouTube and I’ll go out tomorrow and see if I can figure it out. Thanks for your input…🐟on
In the menu there should be a default setting that will return it to factory setting, but you will lose any settings you entered and will have to start from scratch

Thanks, Hook. Yeah that was the first thing I tried. Also did a soft and hard “reset”…🐟on
