Very nice job on the boat DD. I have a lowrance elite 7, seems sometimes it does similar thing, shut it off and restart it sometimes clears it. Good luck!

Well I finally got my boat back together after replacing the fuel tank all the fuel lines and removing all the carpet and applying a rubber granular paint on the floors. So concerning the help I’m needing I had it in the water yesterday and when I turned on my fish finder everything seemed find. But towards the end of my outing the numbers the indicates the depth started blinking. And now that’s all it does. The temp and speed numbers seem to be ok. And it’s showing 60’ sitting in my yard. (blinking) It’s the Lowrance Elite-5. This is something out of my wheel house. When it comes to electronics I’m about as smart as a rock…😜have any of you had a similar problem with your FF…🐟o

I had that same unit at one time and it did the same thing. When I’d shut it down and restart it it worked pretty good but it did that regularly. I took the plug off the back of the unit and put dialectic grease in it, recommended by a boat shop in Oregon, that helped a bunch but it still did it at slow speeds and any time I got in real dirty water or lots of weeds. It I went over 30 mph it instantly went to flashing like that so I just go used to shutting it off and restarting it every once in a while.once it would start flashing the only way it would quit is if I shut it down and restarted it. It has a healthy looking transducer but it a little too sensitive for me. I’m all HuminBird now and zero issues ever. Good luck.
That boat looks awesome by the way. Nice job. When can you redo mine? Lol.the tank is even still good. I just need the purdy stuff. That looks like a new boat👍

Hi Dozer. You'll never get n accurate reading on a hard surface. Something about signal return speed. Screen speed can effect readings at times. If it's n older unit may be transducer. Good luck brother like any thing electric or fuel a pain in the butt

Thanks, Catfish. It did come out pretty nice.
I’ve experienced it flashing when I’ve speed up relocating places on the lake but then go back to normal after slowing back down. But now the depth numbers just blink. We’ll get it figured out, one way or another…🐟on

Yeah, Grizz. But it was also doing it out on the lake. We’ll figure it out. If not I’ve got some Cabela bucks. I’ll get a new one…🐟on

I tried mine in the driveway n though what the heck. Then I read about it. One other thing I just thought about. Make sure transducer is level. It could be that.

I’m about as electronically illiterate as you DD, sorry I’m of no help here. Just wanted to comment on a fantastic rebuild. Looks absolutely perfect!

1 thing, have you changed the range setting for depth, it may be trying to find it

DD...disconnect your transducer cable and use a 50% water 50% alcohol solution to clean the pins. Dry thoroughly and reconnect.
