I had to look that one up, never heard of it. Looks like trout are the main attraction, what I read said they are stocked regularly. That is a small lake. If you don't want to bait and wait, break out the panther martins and such. or your favorite crawdad presentation.

Went back to Folsom couple days ago and did pretty good. Used deep diving crank baits and hooked four and landed two. If you go, look for bait fish in up to 25ft water. Pretty exciting early morning as well with topwater action. Lots of jumpers around the boat, although I didn’t get any takers. I’ll be heading to New Hogan in the next couple days and will let you all know how things went. Good luck out there!

Yeah I grew up in North Liberty if you know where that is. Liberty Township on a small farm. A great place and a great time for a kid. 50s and 60s. I lived down San Diego way for about 25 years, then moved up here to Sacramento area. 2026 i'll have been a californian for 50 years. That's a lot of trout fishin.

Dude, weren't you in the good the bad and the ugly? You're just about a dead ringer for Eli Wallach.

Back at ya Came out here the same year. Went pheasant hunting in your area after graduation. Been back one time. Great fishing memories in Hougthon lake in Mich and Fish trap in Laport Ind. Both good for perch which I really miss trying to outfox. Also Muskies in Houghton. Had a place in East Texas for a while. Super fishing. Really have to search in Southern Cal Just started fly fishing Been on my bucket list. Belize the greatest fishing trip I ever had. Will have to get together. My family are all Irish ☘️ Domers.

I bleed green in the fall. Granddad and i used to fish for perch and bluegill all around that area. My dad would set out "trot" lines (his word) for channel cats in the Kankakee River. SoCal freshwater fishing sucks, unless it's improved in the past 30 years or so. That's my opinion. I gave up after a couple years and turned to the surf and jetties.

Great advice! I will head to Walmart. Thanks! I don't know fishing knots offhand but can look on YouTube. Thanks!!

Get some GOLD glitter at craft store. You can add it to ANY power bait. It will get more bites.

When sun hits glitter it sends light in many directions. If a fish bites the power bait and glitter comes loose.... fish think it’s scales from a bait fish
