Congratulations on the beautiful new home, FD. Looks like the perfect place to retire and fish.
I’m very happy for you and Lynny.

Thanks Randy. We are blessed.

Congratulations, FD!!!
The pictures on Zillow look great. It looks like your biggest decision will be what cove to fish in.
Is there enough room for a shed/carport for the boat? Couldn’t see the driveway/garage side.
Congratulations again.

That’s great news for your daughter. Tell her to ask them all for a best and final offer and she will probably get a bidding war going. Unless she is happy with the offers she has.
We thought we were going to have to fly out and drive all over the country to find the right place. Couldn’t believe we found it the way we did. We just found out that our new neighborhood is one of the most sought after in town. We are truly blessed.

Realtor called her last night with 7 offers. She picked the best one, substantially over her asking price, and they close on 4/15. Turned about 30% in four years. Three days start to finish.

Thanks G. There is a carport behind the right side of the house at the top of the driveway. It’ll be lots of fun backing a boat up hill and then turning it into the carport.
I’m thinking of building a carport or garage on the flat area beside the house and enclosing the current carport and using that for a shop. I just can’t stop building things cold turkey. I have to keep what fingers I still have left in the game. Lol. Shhh. Don’t tell Lynny.

Very similar to ours. We bought for 129000 and sold for 312000 after 5 years. Market is crazy right now. We were able to buy for cash. No mortgage. Yeah. I don’t have to work anymore unless I want to. Of course Lynny has already started a honey do list.

This work from home thing has office people spreading out like a plague. Why live in the city when your job is as near as your wifi .

Congrats FD. Sure was fast both selling and buying. Happy for you, you'll be near daughter and great fishing, what could be better. Stay away from power tools and just go fishing.

Last Monday we listed our house here in Sequim and on Tuesday we had 3 offers. We took the cash offer over asking.
Today our realtor in Alabama sent us a listing and we looked it over. It’s in Guntersville and only 1 mile from the lake. Really quite neighborhood but close to everything. She said she would drive over and do a FaceTime walk through. Our daughter and SIL met her there and went through with her. They loved the house and the neighborhood and so did we so we made an offer. There were 2 other showing today so we had to wait but tonight she called and said it is ours. We can’t wait to get out there and get set up. I have enough left over for a fishing boat. 😀😀😀

Oh, thanks for the tip on the rattle trap.

Oh yea, I know a great place to catch some big bream when they come off bed. Watching that bobber drop and every night there's one of Alabama's biggest bat caves around. They see them on the weather radar.

Congratulations, FD ! REALLY
nice looking place ! Just wondering how big of an adjustment it would be
(culturally speaking) to go
from the Pacific Northwest
to the Deep South !

From all I've seen and read, your Linny is a really good cook as
well as quite the 'handywoman',
so this may also be a golden opportunity to learn/brush up
on a little Southern/Cajun/South-western cuisine (if she isn't there already) ! Good luck and good health to both of you ! Hope y'all have an easy, relatively stress-
free move !

Thanks spirit. If you ever get down that way we’ll go fishing. Might not be a trout but we’ll catch something. I’m glad you don’t stink as much now. Lol

For the record; from what I've seen/read, there IS trout fishing
to be had in Alabama, as well as some really good locations for trout near Greg's (ghaynes')
place in Tennessee (think
Pigeon Forge) !
