I'd say: "Breaking even, beats losing on it!" ... But, it IS true, that so many people expect to pay next to nothing for things y then turn around y wanna sell THEIR stuff, for top dollar! ... Yeah, anything is worth what someone'll pay for it. I haven't even paid any attention to professional football, since WAY < these various Jokers started "taking a knee" during the National Anthem.

Full left shoulder replaced in Feb ‘18, full right hip in Aug. ‘19
So far, so good

Yeah, me too, / the "so far, so good" aspect of the hip doing what it's supposed to be doing.
ME, on the other hand; I, nearly ruined the surgeon's handy work, by getting "Blotto-DRUNK"; leading up to y following my wife's departure. (She "succumbed to" {I don't think I've ever used THAT terminology, before} lung cancer, which ended up in her brain and everywhere else, by the time she "broke on through to the other side".)
That was one tough row to hoe. We had known each other, for ~5 or 6 years, prior to our "Hookin' UP", for the next 15 years, almost exactly. (Give or take a couple of months.) ... Been well over a dozen years ago, now, that I sent her ashes up to near Seattle, where her son was living, at the X.
Didn't really plan to take a trip down THAT "Memory Lane"; today. ... We got today.

That's a tough one AbleMan. No words. As a caregiver I've seen it too often. Stay strong. Appreciate the time you had.

Yeah, thanks guys. I've gotten passed the tears, but it sure took a while. ¿Time heals all wounds?... Not so sure, maybe the time is what you need to "get used to" ... I don't know... ¿"Walking with a limp"? (Metaphorically speaking)

It's really hard to find people these days who don't think you're being unreasonable when you expect them to come to work EVERY weekday, and on time. A work ethic is a rare thing these days.

Ask anyone who run a business ...You NEVER pay your employees before lunch on Friday. The won't come back after lunch!

They do if they expect to have a job on Monday.

Very true. I am praying only the good ones come back to work when it is time, though. So many out there don’t seem to care, nor understand Customer Service nor follow up with communication of some kind...
I see so many with the attitude that we should be honored they showed up for work today, not that they should be honored to have been hired...
The train left the tracks a long time ago... I could go on, but that is for another time.
Sorry for the rant! Have a safe and blessed day! Give your loved ones a hug, or at least a phone call.

I feel your rant, I hope the good ones return and the other ones ...
When I was a supervisor at an electronics company I had 2 screw-offs that had “the attitude”.
I counseled them to no avail. They chose to come back quite late from lunch a number of times with beer on their breath and the wacky-tobaccy in their eyes. Wrote them up and sent them home for everyone’s safety.
Three days later when they returned to work “loaded”, I wrote them up, took them to HR and terminated them within the hour. No unemployment and no job referral. Sometimes action is necessary.

Absolutely, safety, company policy, whatever...gotta go. Companies have liability and employees have to respect that.

It's Thursday knuckleheads. Get up. Same weather here all week. 90, hot, humid, chance of showers. Five hour shift today and tomorrow.

I can't believe all the job openings here. Starting pay isn't bad for entry level or experience. No one wants to work. Staff shortage at wife's new job. They would work her 24/7 if she didn't say no. Either they can't find people or don't know how to hire.

Did you hear about the racing snail that got rid of his shell? He thought it would make him faster but it just made him sluggish.

Go forth and fish. I won't. Too many other things get in the way. Oh well. I'll live.

My son in law who is hard working, ethical and knows what really good customer service is just got fired because the manager of the store wanted to give his position to her girlfriend. Life sucks sometimes.

Sounds to me like a prime candidate for a 'wrongful termination' lawsuit ! 😒

Guess I ain't livin' then. Gee, thought I was. I'm working. Taking care of yard, housework, dog, paying bills, etc, etc, etc ... I could go fishing but I don't seem to care about it right now.
