Fish the channel at Crane and you can catch some nice rainbows. The marina there can help point you in the right direction. O'Dell and Cultus are great too.
I was there yesterday and the lake was open and accessible. Didn't stay long but got a few bites and landed 1 rainbow from the shore. It's scheduled to be stocked next week (check ODFW site) if late winter didn't back the date up.
There are several great fishing lakes off of Cascade Lakes Highway out of LaPine, south of Bend. Crane Prairie, Odell, Paulina, East Lake, North and South Twin,... it's a robust list. Check out the ODFW stocking schedule and it will give you some ideas.
I was thinking of heading out to Wickiup Res in Central OR this weekend and was curious if anyone had been out there yet and how they did. Believe it just opened a couple of weeks ago. Any feedback?
