any info on Panguitch Lake, Red Creek of Yankee Meadows Reservoirs
Panguitch Lake is completely ice free, but water temp is only 39 degrees. Fishing is not great yet, but a few are being landed.
sorry, just saw your post. The only activity is Panguitch Lake which is not red hot yet. Water temp is arund 39 degrees. A few fish being found up to 20"
My friend in San Diego says there are Bluefin and Yellowtail being found 8 miles off shore
Lake is predominantly still has ice. A few spots with open water along the edges, with elbow to elbow fishing wars, according to guide neighbor.
see my FB page of my 26" Tiger Trout on a "Rainbow Warrior" midge pattern at Panguitch Lake. FB page under Chris Taylor...Tight lines!
Panguitch Lake, at last report from my guide neighbor, still had 30" of snow on the banks and lake hasn't had "ice off" yet. Yankee Meadows below Brians head and Paragonah Reservoir still have snow and are inaccessible.
Gooseberry I know nothing about, sorry.
I fished Rock Creek a few times back in the 80's and 90's.
One of my fly tying class students fished there and said he almost got skunked until he tied on my "Red Belly Ant" pattern. He went from "0" to a 30 fish day, he told the club during an dinner meeting.
FYI: if no success on a stream, try a terrestrial. Remember, ants are candy to a trout.

I've heard of Baum Lake, but never fished it. A friend tubes the lake also and says is a favorite of his.
I fished mainly Eastern Sierra's...Lower "O", Hot Creek, Yosemite, etc. when I lived in California.
I fished Hat Creek and the McCloud during a photo shoot with Fly Fisherman Magazine in the 90's. I used a cripple Callibaetis pattern with a long leader to compensate for the micro currents characteristic of the water.
Also fished a Caddis pupa at the Powerhouse Riffle before the the crowds showed up...landed 3 nice "Bows" standing on the gravel bar of the island. It was awesome, but never again with those "elbow to elbow" fly guys from SF.
My favorite in Northern Cal was float tubing Manzanita Lake. Now reside and fish in Southwest Utah.

Thank you...
I have not found any Fly Fishing clubs here in St George/Washington...are there any?
FYI: I am formerly of Sierra Pacific FF and the Santa Clarita Casting Club.
My neighbor (fly guy newbie) and I scoped out Quail Creek Reservoir, Friday. Water temp on friends boat showing 51-58 degrees roughly, so the bass are not moving to the shallows yet, I suspect. 66-68 degrees seem optimum for bass, but maybe someone knows better.
I drive a white Toyota Tacoma with Fly Fishing decals on the back shell window. If you see me, say howdy.

I am new to this site. I live in Washington, Utah now, originally from California. I fished the Eastern Sierra's generally, guided on a limited basis. I am also a fly tier and have been a guest fly tier at fly fishing shows.
I also fished the San Juan River, New Mexico for 18 years. Tiny flies to size #22 on occasion, but #18-20 worked just fine most the time. Terrestrials during the monsoon season is the secret that nobody talks about.
I now concentrate my efforts in Southern Utah for Tiger Trout, Rainbows, Cutthroats and Cutt'Bows. Also scouting Bass ponds and lakes. Found Golf course ponds here to be hidden gems for bass. Private courses are closed to fishing, but public courses are free to fish after the golfers are off the greens.
