Sincerely doubt you could catch trout or walleye at Bartlett from the shore. But there are plenty of catfish!
I usually go to the "Flats" but have also tried my luck at Rattlesnake Cove
Last night I was fishing for cats at Lake Bartlett (Flats) and caught a few. One of them (22 inch, 3.75 pounds) had a very extended belly which caused me to investigate what was "inside." When I opened him up, I found two full-size hotdogs and enough corn to feed a small family. I had been fishing with stink baits but probably should have used hot dogs ... although from this one's insides, he seemed to have been good at stealing them ...
I am not a fly fisherperson so I can't answer the second question. Since the trout are stocked, Powerbait works great and is my go-to. For bass, I use soft plastics. I kayak-fish at Granite Reef so I use the current to float the soft-plastic.
For trout (now that it is being stocked), I recommend fishing at Pebble Beach, Blue Point, or Sheep's Crossing (below the pool). For bass, I recommend Granite Recreation Area and in the pools from Water's Users to the Dam.
It must been the week for it. I've been trying to catch this large one all summer and finally got it yesterday.
I was there yesterday ... the water level is very low. Probably down to about 50% at this point. Bite was very slow ...
Thanks -- that it was I hoping for! Now I just have to find out where they are ... LOL
There was a 2018 warning about eating the Walleye but I haven't seen anything more recent.
I am going to Lyman Lake this weekend and was wondering if anyone could give advice about where and to fish the lake. Also, does anyone have any up-to-date information about whether the walleye can be eaten from there?
Caught these today at 11am (2 @ 20 inches, 1 @ 16 inches) in Saguaro Lake. Had a really big one to the kayak but he snapped my 12pd test line.
I was just at Big Lake this past weekend and wanted to let everyone know that the algae bloom has taken over the lake. The entire lake is covered with about 3-4 inches of algae. Wanted to let you know so that you don't waste a trip.
My second guess was Redear ... I just have not found any confirmation that they are found in the lake I was fishing. I also have not found any confirmation that Long ear are found in the lake.
