Homer,
No reason to apologize for using common sense. I love ice fishing but I tell people, “I will never be the first one out on the ice and I won’t be the last one off the ice.”

I work at Cabelas and listen the fisherman talk about fishing on 2 or 3 inches of ice. That's nuts. No fish is worth dieing for.

I grew up in Minnesota so I was spoiled on walleye. My dad took us to Leech Lake and I was hooked. There are times I have been called a walleye snob because I won't eat catfish, pike, bass or burbot.
As I got older I did try other fish and found them to be delicious if caught in the right season. Also how they are prepared.
I still primarily fish for walleye, pike and perch. Now I will try other fish crappie and sunfish.
Keep fishing
Bob

I miss the Twin Cities lakes no sizable pan fish but 6lb bass, 15 lb pike and 40 inch Musky are very common.

I moved here last summer from West St Paul. I was surprised to find the fishing to be not so good. I have some success in Waseca. I'm looking for some ice fishing lakes
Thanks

Figured I’d share a couple of the stories I found interesting and had saved. This one should start some controversy.😂 I know many stagers would never eat the last one. Do you guys agree with the ranking? I’m a Yellow Perch #1 then walleye…. I Don’t want to ruin the article.

What’s your top 5?
