Try Kingston Steam plant, just east of exit 350 on I40. You can't miss it as there are two tall towers there.

A wacky worm is always a good bait to try and easy to learn to fish. Lots of you tube videos on it. I fish the Watts Bar area so I can't help with Cherokee, sorry.

I went past there today and saw 2 boat trailers in the parking lot at the launch but the steam plant has no smoke coming out of the stacks. Hope this helps.

Nice catch Ivey, weather is unusual for this time of year. Hopefully it will be a mild winter now.

I have the same boat and I had that problem also. i replaced the cranking battery with a 12volt deep cycle battery. The cranking battery is the one farthest forward of the batteries, so I rearranged them with the cranking battery to the rear. I then got me a set of jumper cables and stored them on top of the gas tank as I am now able to get to the cranking battery to jump it from one of the trolling motor batteries.
In an emergency you can always connect your boat to the trolling motor battery with it configured this way as long as you have a wrench with you to switch the wires from the cranking battery to one of the trolling motor batteries.
This will always get you off the lake as you have 3-12volt batteries on board if you have a 24volt trolling motor.
Hope this helps resolve the issue to make it safer for you.

Had my boat serviced once and they removed plug and left it out. I didn't think to check it as I very seldom pill it. My grandson and I were fishing a tournament that day and after I got out on the lake a ways, he asked me if there was supposed to be water on the floor. Luckily, I wasn't far from the dock so was able to start up motor and return to dock. Got the truck and trailer and loaded up so I could drain, 30 minutes later we were fishing........
Moral to the story, Always have a check list and go over it yourself before you leave home, then check it again at the ramp.
I'm easily embarassed and this helps. 😜🀣😊

Sorry to hear that, they're probably out Christmas shopping. I went to Watts Bar crappie fishing today and we only got eight. Figured we'd load the boat today.
Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year.

Thanks, A friend of mine also caught a couple of nice ones on another lake here at Fairfield Glade. Trying to get them to bite before the weather turns bad.

I'm planning on doing some stripper fishing at Watts Bar steam plant after Christmas. Would appreciate any information that I can get about this as I have never tried it before. It is less than a hour drive from my home in Crossville.
I'll try to attach pictures of largemouth that I caught off my dock today.
