To all my neighbors in Florida please stay safe. Listen to the Emergency Offices in your Area. This is a big storm hitting our State the biggest in a long time. Pull your boats out now!
By Saturday some of us may be back to fishing

Ed,
Make sure the bulb gets hard hen you pump it. They have a tendency to go bad and as in Murphy’s Law at the most inopportune moments.

Ceb,
Bass pro shop is pricey on some equipment. Walmart has good stuff to start with. It won’t break your purse strings. The other thing that I suggest is look up Salt Strong. It’s a group of guys from around Florida that put out some good tips. Check your local paper for the fishing column.

Thanks Joe. I too worked on a head boat out of Jersey back in the day. I haven’t found any grass in this area, just oyster beds. I also have some bridges to get sheepshead

Hi Ramon,
Surf fishing is a great way to spend day. You can also try pier fishing. There is a good fishing pier in Flagler Beach. Either way good fishing!

AnimalHouse,
Sounds like my house: 3 Old English Sheepdogs, a Greenwing Macaw, Mulucan Cockatoo, and 2 African Grays. East coast in the Halifax River and the back waters we have a lot of oyster beds. I just have to hope that some local locals read my post.
Thanks for the advice.

For flounder and trout I'd fish the grassflats in Mosquito Lagoon......the inlet for monster Reds and Snook
Sinker Rig,
Thank you. Idon’t trailer so Mesquito Lagoon is a bit of a distance, and with price of gas trying to stay close to home.

Thank you Secundo. I know about drift anchors, but just haven’t purchased one as yet. Something I will look into

Thank you Flyer. I must be doing it too fast. I haven’t gotten accustomed to the Florida Ways yet!

Greetings all!
I’m originally from The Garden State and am familiar with their way of salt water fishing for different species. Here in Florida I see that there are different ways. I am targeting flounder ( fluke) and sea trout (weakfish). I have tried drift fishing, like I did in Jersey but find the current very fast. I’ve been told that I need to anchor and cast with a slow retrieve. This has produced a lot of frustration. Any tips for fishing the Ponce Inlet area would be greatly appreciated.
