Was talking about Stripe Bass.
Glad you're catching Large Mouth Bass.

riblueuser,
Uni knot
I use a Uni to conect my Fluorocarbon leader directly to braid. A loop knot to artificial. Have caught Tarpon, Stripers, Snook, Jacks, Redfish, Trout and Bluefish. No metal terminal tackle needed. 20 lb Sufix 832 is very good braid for all of the above. Any 40 lb Fluorocarbon will work. Wet the knots before tightening. You're good to go...

Should i be fishing top water? Popping on retrieve?
Should i be pulling a swiming plug subsurface?
Bait on the bottom?

Never fished the canal but looks interesting. Have the Bass moved North?
Is it over till they return? When might they pass through heading South? Looking forward to learning a new spot to fish. Any help would be 👍 great
Thanks

Hearing the drag screaming is the sound of survival.
Feeling the tail slap your leader lets you know how big that fish might be.
But the catch and release is nirvana!

Try Zman paddle tails. They last quite awhile. Just my 2 cents...

Depends on a lot of stuff....
But. I like Sufix 832
Use 20 lb test Costal Camo
And Flurocarbon leader, size adapts.
Uni to uni to main line and a loop not to artificial.

Learn how to sharpen hooks till they're scary sharp.

Offering:
Whatever you throw should have good motion and create noise, or vibrations.
Should look like the bait in the area.
And give it scent applied if it didn't have smell already.

Be the predator:
Think like the fish you're after.
Where would you set up to ambush your next meal? What's around? A point, Oyster bed, sandbar, grass bed, structure in the form of rocks, a dock or a nice batch of moving water.

A plan:
Have a plan of attack and stick to it untill you hook up. Give it time and be thorough. Bring your offering where that preditor should be waiting and work the area. If you find activity but not hooked up, change the speed of retrive, twitch or jigging.

Positivity:
Just know they're going to bite. Invision exactly what's going to happen. He's right behind your offering. Be ready and stay in the game.

Senses:
You can find fish by using all your abilitys. You may not see them but you may smell them. You can hear a crash of water. Be in the moment and realize that some days will be better than others. Find a fishing partner and you'll notice today was his day and tomorrow will be your's.
Good luck too you!
