Headed to the coast around Bob Hall Pier and PINS. Does anyone know how the water clarity is, around that area?
Don't do much fishing around Port A or Corpus until the fall.
Happen to be going down there this weekend.
Question is,
Are mullet available to catch in my cast net this time of year ?
Also, how's the seaweed situation ?
This doesn't apply for the last few years and probably for the immediate future BUT
when the lake is full and they start releasing about 1800cfs, after 3 to 5 days, fishing below the spillway is wonderful. Caught a lot of nice cats using minnows and cut minnows.
Left the dock at 7
Limited out by 8:30.
10 striper.
Littler one at bottom is a white bass.
Thank you TH Fishing
What's the word up there at Buchanan Dam?
I'm heading up on Monday.
Hoping for a few striper
I'm sorry, I'm sort of embarrassed asking this question but in fresh water I'll mostly go fishing for catfish. I'm more accustomed to salt water fishing.
Anyway, my lady friend has a birthday coming up on the 2nd of March. I want to take her on a guided Striper Fishing excursion up around there Lake Buchanan/LBJ area.
Would it be better to wait to give her the trip in late March or during her birthday week ?
Thanks in advance.
I've had good luck with live large minnows that I cut in half
I've watched a lot of videos where they find and use sand fleas for bait. Unfortunately, I don't recall if any of them are from the Texas Gulf.
Are there sand fleas around PINS or the beaches around Corpus Christi ?
Very nice looking !
The fish isn't bad either
In Port Aransas the best fishing is on the pier, the jetties and Roberts Point Park.
MY OPINION is that for surf fishing, the beaches slope is not steep enough. You have to wade out far to cast to the first or second gut, at least during low tide. Went south of beach access road 2 and the conditions are much better. Port Aransas beaches are more for partying. Further south is more for fishing. Again, MY OPINION.
Nothing wrong either way.
Good luck !

Either way, the outcome is bad.
