New to this part of South Texas and I love. I do not know the fishing spots and at 69 yrs old I better find them out fast. I am looking forward to reading updates.
Thanks

I can't help that area but welcome to the stage
There are multiple ways to get tips for where to fish and how to rig your fishing gear. The Texas Parks and Wildlife issue a weekly fishing report. Members on this website are very helpful also. There is also a weekly TV channel that covers the Texas Gulf coast fishing. Basically if you are bay fishing, redfish, sea trout and black drum are common targets to catch. Most people use live bait : shrimp, cut mullet, or small perch bought at bait shops located around Port Aransas or Rockport. Port Aransas has a fishing supply store in downtown that sells live and frozen bait. If you are surf fishing, try the jetties. The popping jig is popular for live bait for bay fishing.
In Port Aransas the best fishing is on the pier, the jetties and Roberts Point Park.
MY OPINION is that for surf fishing, the beaches slope is not steep enough. You have to wade out far to cast to the first or second gut, at least during low tide. Went south of beach access road 2 and the conditions are much better. Port Aransas beaches are more for partying. Further south is more for fishing. Again, MY OPINION.
Nothing wrong either way.
Good luck !
Thanks for info.
