I’d like to hear how the trip goes. Thinking about heading over that way to target some big pike.

I have been fishing Chatfield quite a bit this summer and am happy to see the fishery is doing well with plenty of healthy fish. I always manage to catch good numbers and have even been fortunate enough to get a few to take home for dinner.

Another great morning at Chatfield. Went out at 5:30, fished until 10:30 and caught 31 walleye between 17” and 18.5”. Only one big enough to go in the box to keep but still a pretty good day on the water. It started out pretty slow but once I figured out where they were at and went to a 1/2 worm on a lindy rig it was on. All were caught in 15’ to 16’ of water trolling at .6mph in a very tight area and a ways away from all of the other boats so I had the spot pretty much to myself.

I was fishing by myself and had several doubles as well.
Hope that helps you a bit.

Hey Mike,
It was real good for me the last 3 weeks. Not sure about this week as we believe there was a hatch of fry coming off, the fish I cleaned had tiny minnows in the stomach. I’m guessing as they grow a bit more things might slow down slightly for a bit.
Probably going to go out Thursday morning and will know more then.

I ended up catching 27 in all this morning, fished from 5:30am until around noon. Fast a furious to start out then understandably slowed down towards the end. Was able to catch one keeper about 18.5”, the rest between 16” and just under 18”.
Also managed 3 nice size smallmouth bass, 3 rainbows and one perch. In all another outstanding day on the water.

It’s somewhere near the swim beach I believe. I never pay attention to the shoreline, as I’m watching my charts/waypoints and depth most of the time.

Look for the boat with the Tuffy emblem on the side.

I’m headed out again early tomorrow morning (6-14), I'll have a report tomorrow. So far the west shoreline about 1/3 of the way down the lake from the north ramp has been producing for me.

Went out yesterday morning for the 3rd try on the reservoir and had a pretty good day. The weather was clear and it did get pretty warm at noon when I stopped. Caught 15 walleye (kept 2 that were over 18”), one 15” smallmouth and one 18” rainbow (surprise catch).
All were caught in the same small area in 13’ to 22’ of water using worm harnesses dragged on the bottom at .6 to .8 mph.
