Hey Mike,
It was real good for me the last 3 weeks. Not sure about this week as we believe there was a hatch of fry coming off, the fish I cleaned had tiny minnows in the stomach. I’m guessing as they grow a bit more things might slow down slightly for a bit.
Probably going to go out Thursday morning and will know more then.

Mike,
Another great morning at Chatfield. Went out at 5:30, fished until 10:30 and caught 31 walleye between 17” and 18.5”. Only one big enough to go in the box to keep but still a pretty good day on the water. It started out pretty slow but once I figured out where they were at and went to a 1/2 worm on a lindy rig it was on. All were caught in 15’ to 16’ of water trolling at .6mph in a very tight area and a ways away from all of the other boats so we had the spot pretty much to myself.
I was fishing by myself and had several doubles as well.
Hope that helps you a bit.

Just a question are the Walleyes safe to eat out of Chatfield? I know there was a lot of mining done in and around Denver years ago and this released a variety of heavy metals into the surrounding soil which through rain and erosion had potential to bring levels up in water sources to a dangerous level for human and animal consumption.
