Bass fishing with my son before he deploys in October. Great day on the lake. Not the best bite but still some premium time together.

Had a great fathers day this year. Fishing out of St Augustine on Saturday and a Top Golf outting on Sunday. Don't get much better than that. 4 bonita, 2 kings, 2 jacks, 4 red snapper (out of season), 9 verillion snapper and 2 6ft shark. Great day with the family

Bought my first set of whopper ploppers. 2 3.5 inch and. 5 inch. The 5 inch model has a split ring on the front. Do you tie onto the ring or remove it and tie directly to the lure eye?

So after 2 months of back yard practice casting with my first baitcasting set up I went for it today. Landed 12 bass, no hogs but was plenty of fun. Only about a half dozen nasty backlashes. First time fishing with jigs as well. Fun day all in all.

Most of the bass i catch in this FL sand pit lake are healthy with medium to large girth. However i have recently caught 2 or 3 very thin fish they are 15 to 16 inches long. Any reason for this? Water quality an issue?

Tilapia are considered an invasive species. There not that easy to catch. But i am seeing more nesting in our small community pond. What is the concensus on this fish, kill it to preseve the bass fishery or release it for the catch to eat crowd?
