the shad / salmon/ stripper/sturgeon/trout, on the sac. in red bluff was great. pretty sure that's still happening. and shasta...wow! 35 species of sport fish in that lake.
i know what you're saying about the trash in the rivers.
we retired here in oregon. and the fishing is wide open.
but,as you know, people are the same any place you decide to go,
and we encounter the same kind of thing here, too.
that gas can post was...good. opened some eyes...did mine.
thank's
Barnacles,
that is a true story, for sure, thank you.
have you ever fished much, on the Sacramento?
yes, and what about those "fancy new cloths washing machines".
when did they get smarter than us?
just another modern improvement, that sucks.
thanks, man
thanks Rheatown.
it was ok but,
i couldn't depress the button with the spout in the fill hole of a car...too short.
adding a clear vinyl extension tube might work
it also needed an air bleeder hole, as they all seem to.
and the handles were in the wrong spot, the one on the spout was useless.
that's my take on the the Briggs and Straton "press and pour".
yet, another waste of money.
Shaddick
any one following, still i bought the push and pour
some one recommended.
but have not tried it yet.
Shad
thank's to RT.
my suggestion is buy what works for you
yes, i agree those typical cans the manufacturers expect us to use really suck gas.
thank's again everyone,
Shad
wow! thanks, seems to me that the manufacturers are constantly changing threads and one has a hard time sealing other spouts to your can.
like a light bulb the threads should be small, or medium, or large...that's it!. any small would fit a small!
it's gas, for god sake.
but of course... we have been wrong before.
hello, any one else find the new gas cans hard to use?
I like the bottle idea.
the thing was that we had to let so much line out on the big boats, that setting the hook with mono was not always easy, in the wind. So one of the guys came up with a float with a spring arm that set the hook upon being pulled.
and some times probably even worked. I also, have a million dollar idea. right now the plans are being drawn for a completely portable food grinder/ chopper, that can chew your food for you, even out at fine dinning.
I'll call it "choose yer food".

In the 60's fishing off of the Dominator, the Ferry and the California in Redondo beach, about a mile out,was fun.
The California was a steel vessel used in the war and famously saved, stranded adventures lives once.
The Ferry was an old ferry boat that had lots of bait fish feeding around the frozen wood paddles.
the Dominator i'm not too sure, but might have been, a big old WWII freighter.
The water was alway's full of fish like bonita, mackerel, albacore, yellowtail, smelt, shark, and the occasional sail fish.
All day long,if you cared to you, you could go between the vessels by getting on the shore boat going between ships. Even staying over night to fish.

C.B. ,this is pretty interesting stuff and here's a tale of how it might pay to get a patent...
Back in my high school days,in the 1960's, my buddy Mike, actually put mayonaise from a glass jar into a plastic squeeze container,he send it off to Hellman's, packed in dry ice.
They wrote him back that this was an "impractical idea",but we think they later used it to make millions...maybe more.
Well, that's the story as we like to tell it.
Shad
hey man, are you the same feller who was talking about surf fishing in the surf,
hows the weather in sweet home?
btw nice boat.
Linda, hi my name's Andy.
"Shad" is my fishing stage handle. I'm in Lebanon and would like to try Green peter, soon.
We love cat's and sun fish mostly. I just got an inflatable and am anxious to try...stay in touch, please.
Have you been fishing some other lakes?
Shaddick
bjoe,
sounds good.
bring you a wire screen of 1/4 inch mesh to find the best crab...SOFT SHELL sand crab is the best bait, but not always easy.
be safe.
And let us know how it went.Shad
weight can be an egg slider with barrel swivels and beads. -------------------------12lb, test and 6-8 leader.
also they make a flat one that holds the bottom better.
If you bait the hook to keep it alive they can dig back into the sand, and some times feel like some things there.
so keep it moving, but pay it out when its moving in the right direction,a little like sailing into the wind.again you don't need much weight,1 oz.less is better.the fish are in a trough waiting to ambush a sand crab, following the tide. in fairly shallow water.cast past it and fall in.
And again the ocean is full of things that want to eat you,not to mention the overwhelming forces a big tide can create. Be safe
