Bill, our Alabama Bass Nation Highschool Juniors (middle school age) fished yesterday... winning weight was 19.64# (5fish)....spawn or not the fish are hungry!!
Scott, you are a twenty minute drive to the Coosa River. North of you, in Gadsden, it is known as Lake Neely Henry. There is a public boat launch/park downtown on the river. Southeast of you the river continues into Logan Martin Lake near Pell City. Lakeside Park is public and has docks to fish from. Also, in Riverside, a new boat launch/park called Lincoln's Landing has several piers to fish from. Tight lines!
TooMuch.....try contacting Allen and Jessica Norris at the "Yak Shak" in Birmingham. They are tied into the kayak tournament groups around the area. My son, JJ, is one of their product specialist. (

Pete, Facebook has a page called "Gulf Shores Fishing"....not to take away from fishing stage, but I have found some great information on that sight...
Alan, just another thought...go to Beeswax boat ramp.... follow past the launch and go to the back two raised piers at the park....fish between the two piers....we have had success there....at least we did at our last State Tournament at the end of June!

Alan, I live in Birmingham and we also have a house on Logan Martin. We fish Lay often with the High School Bass team tournaments. Bank fishing right now is tough because of the heat and water temps. Most Bass have moved to the main channel and will stay there until late September or October. Maybe try early in the morning (before sunrise...but still daylight). Try anything top water (frogs, spooks, whopper ploppers). Next trick would be at night (10pm+)...ned rigs, senkos, big black worms....and fish SLOW....
Good luck!
James
Barnacles....it's never too late. If you enjoy fishing still! Find a neighbor, a youth group or whatever....Take a kid fishing...it is usually more rewarding to you than the child!!
plumbob... sorry it keeps sending two links...try the second one...it is a Facebook video with a mention of the sight to purchase... hope it helps you!

plumbob, didn't know you were on a budget...but totally understand. Personally, I would try something that looked as original as possible...verses a 2x6... just trying to help out! Tight lines and good luck 🤞!
plumbob, I currently have a call into a friend...he owns a local business..."The Yak Shak"...if their is an idea, he might already know something. What model do you have?
