Looking for a suggestion on how to raise the seat.

Leaning towards a 2- 2x6's across from side to side.

Any other ideas?

Got me there Plum. I never been in a kayak. Don't get her off balance. That hasn't gone well for some. ๐Ÿ‘

2 - 2 1/2" up shouldn't affect the balance Griz, hopefully!

I use a rope tied to the bow to assist getting up. The higher i can make the butt the easier it will be standing.

My immediate thought was a block of polyethelene. Would add flotation too

Try it in shallow water first. The kids want me to try one. Told them I'd try it in the yard first ๐Ÿ˜‚. I have enough trouble getting up on stable ground as it is.

There are plans online to use 1'' PVC and make a square platform to rest on the bottom of your kayak. I would say that you cannot sit above the top of your kayak for stability problems.

You may be able to make a little box frame across the back and along the sides, but my concern is about raising the center of gravity as to make it โ€œtippyโ€ from side to side.
I know youโ€™re experienced and I am certain you are capable.
I see the seat is adjustable forward, but I presume those adjustment capabilities must raise with the seat?

Where i launch is about 2 - 3 feet. Trust me, not going far until i give it the side to side test.

I had a bonafide yak that the seat was above the top. However it was wider by 4" than this one. Good reason to try in shallow water first.

The adjustment only gets me closer to the peddles, no height advantage.

I have the seat all the way back for this 6'2" getting older by the day body.

I like the PVC idea if you can assemble a unit to accommodate any elevation changes necessary to maintain the balance and support.

Now you got the brain in the think mode. Got to find that on line. Might be on to something here.

Neighbor put me on to those for anchors. They don't get stuck in mud and easy to retrieve. The Juice said i may borrow them all summer, she prefers to walk instead.

When i tell her where they have been she wont want them back.
