I caught this one on pactola a wile ago. We were fishing for lake trout in 106 feet of water and I caught it when I was realing in like 5 feet from the ice. Here's the lake trout my buddy's caught and a brown that my brother caught.
the top two are lake trout and the bottom fish is a Brown trout.

Last of the trip I caught fish up to 9 pounds. Great trip and I can’t wait to go again. My favorite lure to use was a gold Kastmaster that I added florescent chartreuse fly resin to.

Well I’ve had a quite successful trip catching loads of trout between 6 to 8 pounds so far. I lost the big one (18 pounds or so) isn’t that always the case. I have today to try and best my personal best. I’m a little hesitant to get up and at it because it’s 21 degrees out. But let’s do this. I used Kast master lures of brass, and frog pattern.

My BIL will probably be there also. He fishes from a float tube (Pontoon style). He has been going there for years. I have only fished it with him a few times.
Do you fish there a lot?
this is my third trip. I lost an 18 pounder tonight after a long battle at shore. But I still have three days to fish. I think it’s gonna be epic.

My Bro-in-law is probably one of the best fishermen on that lake. Last week he caught a 17 pounder.

This is a picture of what he uses, and he makes them himself. If you have anything that looks like this, give it a try
thanks old bass guy. I’ve always been able to limit plus style fishing at pyramid and am trying to best by personal record this trip of twelve pounds. I always fish from shore with flys I tie and also use my spinning real with spoons, jigs, and others. The twelve pounder was caught on a frog like pattern kastmaster lure with my spinning rod at Warrior point. I will be there tomorrow trying for my PB. It’s pretty cold up this way but hoping the fishing will heat it up.

For those of you who fish Lake Pyramid in Nevada what is your favorite technique and lure/flys to use for the monster cutthroats? I’m headed that way tomorrow and want to be ready 👍

Hey, all. I’ve trout fished for most of my life, but almost exclusively with rooster tails as I could never master fly fishing and I love the cast-and-retrieve style as opposed to float-and-wait.

I’ve picked up some Trout Magnet artificial worms to use this year, though, and my problem is that I don’t really know how to fish them. Do I need to use a float or can I use a retrieve method I’m more used to with the worms? Have some BB-sized split-shots ready too.

I’m excited to use these worms, but hoping I don’t have to just cast and watch a bobber with these worms. Any help is greatly appreciated!
So I have fished many different brand and types of trout worms including trout magnets over the past several years. This has become my preferred method of fishing for trout other than a fly rod. I have landed two double digest trout in the past few years and countless over 5 pounds using trout worms. I use 2 or 4 pound test line with 1/32 or 1/64 jig heads. My favorite color to start with would be a bubble gum color and then will switch to orange, green, natural etc depending on water conditions. My largest rainbow was a 12 pounder caught on a pink and white mouse tail jigged this method in a lake. After trout fishing for the last 53 years I would say jigging trout worms with an 8 foot rod on light line are by far the most productive. Good luck and add a little twitch on your retrieve. 👍

I caught a Gila trout in Boggs Tank in the White mountains out of Show Low Arizona about 6 years ago. I don’t think they were known to be in this small lake.

I have St Croix Trout 6ft fast. I currently have 10lb sufix 832 at home. My question is what weight braid would you recommend to cast 1/12 to 1/8 lures? The trout in the rivers I fish range between 14-18 inches with the occasional Coho Jack's. Will the 10lb sufix be overkill? If so what weight to you suggest? I mostly fish from my kayak and will be doing some backpacking to some Alpine lakes. The trout are not line shy if that helps. Thanks again.

It looks like two different sets of usage here. In the lakes I would use 4lb test and in the River 8lb test. But it’s personal preference and I like to go light especially in the lakes where I would normally fish 3lb test for trout that size. Good luck to you and tight lines 👍

Nothing exceptional but I got two bows out of the local creeks that haven’t been stocked since June. Trip was cut short when my wife called me about a water leak in the basement. It was a bugger to fix, faulty pipe was under the AC ducts. I’m not much of a plumber but just got it fixed with some sharkbites and it is not leaking.Bows we’re 13 and 14”. Good smoking material.

Very nice catch and tasty to!

Saltwater sunfish ? First for me -
never heard of such a thing 'til
now ! This beast was caught in someone's fishing net somewhere
off the coast of North Africa !

Marine biologists estimated the weight at around 4,400 lbs. !
i caught one of these while trolling in the Catalina channel from a 16 foot skiff. I estimated its weight around 400 pounds. Very very unusual looking fish. It had been snagged accidentally and I released it. I’ve occasionally encountered them in the Los Angeles area out in the channel. I think they eat jelly fish. Tight lines boys.

Delta Bass fishing or should I say Delta bait fishing

Pretty little thing though

I used to catch those as a young lad in Iowa. It’s some kind of sunfish isn’t it?
