There are also party boats sailing out of North Shore harbors, such as Port Washington and Huntington.
Jones Inlet is fished from Field 2 with a substantial walk on sand. Also from West End Work Dock beach, but you need a permit to drive in. Not a bad walk from Coast Guard Boat Basin - no permit needed.
I'm afraid that winter flounder are mostly a thing of the past. They used to be so plentiful that party boats would go out just for them. My old tackle box is still full of winter flounder hooks and rigs.š
Ponds and streams are not frozen so all freshwater fishing is available. Herring are running.
I wii not patronize Cabalaās or Bass Pro Shop.
Yes, when I bought my 710 āGreenieā it came with an extra spool.
In the old days, when you bought a spinning reel it usually came with at least one extra spool; additional spools could be purchased. I havenāt found that to be the case today. Because of this, I find that I have to buy a separate reel for each line weight I use. does anyone know of a line of reels (salt or freshwater) which comes with an extra spool or for which extra spools can be bought.
Enjoy the fresh air and the solitude of your secret place.
Iād go with the 3000 which I use mostly from shore or piers.
Thatās the way I use it. Just wondering if upgrading is worth it. Iāve recently returned to fishing, after a many yearās absence, and find a lot of āfreeā information on Fishbrain, useful.
Has anyone subscribed to Fishbrain? Is it worth it? Iāve been looking at the free version every day and have picked up a few bits of useful information.
