Well guys. Brad and I got out to the Napa bout 0800 and went up Napa slough but there were some fishermen at a couple of places we wanted to try first so we went to our 3rd spot there and nothing happenin.
Fished for about 15 min with 0 bites so we jetted on out to the fishin grounds.
We couldn't find em out there right away but then we caught a few. All were keeper size so we kept 1 21 incher bout 3 pounds.
Right on Saw. As always you got it down pretty good. Do you use the same bait casting rods when you troll?
Fished along a little further and I hook into a nice one. Land it and it's 24 inches and 5 pounds. Now we have 2 on the stringer. It's 0930 and we've caught 7 fish and all but 1 were keeper size, 21 to 23 inches.
Released all but the 2 on the stringer.
Started trollin and trolled till 1030, nothing.
Went back where we started castin and resumed castin. I hooked into a very nice fish in bout a foot of water and it went nuts. I saw it a couple of times and it was another 5+ pounder. It started takin drag and goin down river with the current and tide but Brad was still goin UP river on the trollin motor and it just put too much strain on the fish, It was still takin drag and finally the hook pulled out. Woulda helped if Brad had stopped the trollin motor to help ease the pressure, OH WELL.
We finally landed 3 more fish, 1 short and 2 more keepers. Both 21 inches and 3 pounds. That put us with a limit so we called it a day and it was bout noon.
So the total was 10 fish today. 8 keepers and 2 shorts in 4 hours.
Just the 1 pic of the fish before the fillet board.
Well guys. Brad and I got out to the Napa bout 080... (
