Anyone ever eaten one?
I’ve never cooked one but I have tried it and it was good.

I was putting my boat in the lake one time when a young boy came up to me and said if you go over to those rocks across from here you will find a lot of rattlesnakes. I thanked him and said I will make sure I don’t go there. This was several years ago. I leave them alone and don’t think I want to eat them.

I have, didn’t taste like chicken it tastes like snake, 🐍 it’s good if it’s cooked right not too much and not too little, but don’t ask me how,
I’ve never cooked it

Why not. lol
Life gets boring eating the same thing over and over, for me anyway.

Well the only time I tried doing it, I must have done it wrong. LOL Lots of bones and not much meat. The skin did make a nice hat band though.

Yeah Larry, I ate some when I was stationed in Yuma AZ. Not something I would bother with again, but when in Rome, do as the Romans do.
Our Wildlife folks here in Connecticut have sanctuary for em in a state forest about 15 miles from where I live. They used them as transplants to establish a population of them in Lyme Connecticut to prey on field mice. The mice are carriers of Deer Ticks, at their immature stage, and the rattlers are supposed to eat the mice to keep the ticks in check and this keeps the Lyme disease from spreading ( ? ). That's the theory anyhow. I don't know if it works, but I don't hear as much about Lyme disease these days, so maybe it's being effective. I'm close to Lyme too, about 20 miles away in the other direction.
I could never figure out why anyone would pay so much for things that taste like chicken when chicken is so much cheaper 👍🤔

If you ever do cook one, make sure you don’t boil it in beer. And if you Do boil it in beer, make sure to cut it into small pieces, otherwise it spins and slaps around as it cooks, making a hell of a mess!!
Eating a serpent doesn't set right with me.

Wish Adam and Eve had eaten the serpent instead of the fruit!
The only way I've eaten/cooked it was slathered in butter, seasoned with garlic powder and black pepper, wrapped in foil and thrown in the coals. Wasn't great but a lot better than MREs
I've liked 5 rattlers around here; shot each one! Before they ate me! One was 6 feet long and 10 buttons. Big
for our NE Washington area.
We had a wild game feed in Texas years ago with rattle snake, armadillo, aligator, venison, antelope, javelina, turkey, quail, dove, and chicken for the sissies. It was all good, but I was raised on a farm where we ate lots of different game including, squirrel, possum, raccoons, venison, rabbits, pheasant, ducks, geese, and quail.
