Welcome in Brian! Love all the “gold country”
Murphy’s is around 10 miles east of Angels Camp.
Brian
You might already know but Alpine Lake and Spicer Reservoir are two good trout lakes east of Murphy’s near Bear Valley.

Welcome to the forum Brian.
Thank you sir! Appreciate all this info. Yes, I am aware of the hatchery at Don Pedro, but have never had the time to check it (or that lake) out. Greatly looking forward to doing so now though, since I am retiring just prior to our move out that way. I know of Iron Door, and have been in there before. Was always in a bit of a hurry though, as was almost always headed out to the Eastern Sierra to fish the lakes over there. Looking forward to fishing a lot more on the western side of our mountains from here on out.
Cheers and thanks.
Thanks Ron. It sure is. Looking forward to being there, and to being in your neck of the woods in general.
Many thanks. Yes, I have fished Alpine and Spicer both, but many years ago. Did quite well at Spicer back then. Greatly looking forward to becoming reacquainted with those waters!
