Caught 3 monster sting rays. Really wanted drum or redfish. All he Yusuf was cut whiting and 1” pieces of shrimp. We had a live 5” croaker. Can’t guess why he didn’t use it. I will be more directive on my next charter.
I just finished a charter in Florida. I feel a little ripped off. I paid for a 4 hr trip and we spent the first 1 1/2 hrs hustling bait. Shouldn’t the crew have secured bait on their own time instead of using my paid for time to get bait?
My fishing charter in the Amelia Island sound was very windy and the Atlantic had 7 ft swells, although inside the jetties was just mildly choppy. Besides small bay fish I caught three stingrays. 20, 40, and 60 lbs. fought each one about 30 min average. Wore me out. I’m still sore, but great fun!
We have a terrible seaweed problem along the Galveston gulf coast every spring. It typically clears up around August. I simply do not surf fish until “weed season” is over. It’s probably similar in your location but beginning and end will be different times probably. Hang in there.
Haven't fished there in a few years but shrimp, tout tails on jigs, swim tail grubs, spec rigs, MirrOlures. Just to name a few And welcome to the stage
Huat got back into fishing after a 6 year hiatus. Just bought a new Penn spinning rig. I live in the Bal Harbor neighborhood on the north shore of Clear Lake. Anyone have any tips? Bait, lures techniques. I can just walk across the road to fish.
