Huat got back into fishing after a 6 year hiatus. Just bought a new Penn spinning rig. I live in the Bal Harbor neighborhood on the north shore of Clear Lake. Anyone have any tips? Bait, lures techniques. I can just walk across the road to fish.

Haven't fished there in a few years but shrimp, tout tails on jigs, swim tail grubs, spec rigs, MirrOlures. Just to name a few
And welcome to the stage

I appreciate it, good luck and I meant to add fishing during tide changes can improve your chances
Thx. I’ll pay attention to the tides👍
Jdeforest: Over time, fishing in the Laguna Madre and also Galveston West Bay, I have found that by rigging up a double drop with two jig heads and plastic shrimp tails, under a weighted popping cork works for spotted trout. You will certainly know when one hits it. You also don't hve to be too quiet. the Popping cork sounds like trout when they hit a shrimp on the surface, so it attracts others to dinner.
Also, read the monthly Texas Game and Fish report on Salt Water fishing, it covers all the spots from all along the Texas Coast, Lake Sabine to South Padre Island. Just Sayin...RJS
Thx. Good tips. Much Appreciated! Will try it.
Oh! I forgot gold spoons also work! Just Sayin... RjS
Great ideas above! I'd go across the road and see what those anglers are doing. Won't take long to figure out who is the most successful.
There have been no anglers over there recently so learning by hit and miss. But you guys have given me some things to try. Thanks
