I waited the lake prior to 2006 when I moved away from Flagstaff and while the water was never more than thigh deep and its deepest point, there were lots of decent sized Pike in there. Again, I agree with the above comments. Best to try it yourself and see. Large Daredevil type spoons seem to work best back then. Good luck!

Lake Springfield is even closer than Fellows, and near the dam has a covered fishing dock as well as several other 'piers' . Fishing for various warm water species is hit or miss, for me mostly miss. The lake is mostly filled in from the James River and due for a dredging and complete renovation in coming years.
Fellows had a fishing dock, also, near its east end, open during daylight hours only.
Good luck to you!

As a lower division (justice court) judge in Arizona for the last 13 years of my career before I quit in 2020, I can tell you that I heard it all. Keeping a straight face was the toughest part of my job. Alternately I'd want to laugh out loud, yell "shut the f... up", or listen to chilling, horrible stories of abuse, it was never boring.
Occasionally, my bride to be (now my wife) would sit in the courtroom to see what I did for a job. The conversations she heard between attorneys and their clients was absolutely stunning. If I had heard any of these I certainly wouldn't be a neutral party.
What a great encore career! I miss it so much.

Do it! I moved back home for a reason. Yeah yeah, some say you gotta go way downstream to "find fish", but that just seems odd. 2 rivers converge on either side of me 800' from my house. I don't and won't use electronic stuff to look at fish where they live, but there's been a good population of basstypes here since I started slingin plastic worms in the early 60s. Dunno why dudes think they all moved downstream. Like a writer friend of mine, I'm a minimalist fisherman, apparently. I can fish for hours, catch one little one and go home smiling. Thanks for the kind words. You come near the west end of the Rock, holler at me and I'll share my fave castin spots.

I fished one tournament in the early 1970s in Arizona, and that was enough for me. Give me a depth finder in the water temperature and I'll be happy all day. I have no desire for any of the fancier equipment. Thanks for the great pome!
