Hey Hack,
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
Been fishing lately?
I had a great experience yesterday, found clean water in Sabine and caught two flounder on my homemade lure!
Sweet, 15 and 16”.
Went to Calcasieu today found some cleaner water near black bayou on outgoing tide. Caught several flounder, pass a good time!
Buy the deer tail, not “but”
Yes, but the deer tail, pour the lead head, powder coat the jig, add flash then add the blade, bam; modified fluke bait!
Hack,
I used my homemade lure, sort of an upside down spinner bait, I call it LuLu lure!
Hey Hack,
Thanks for the “truth”, don’t get much of that these days! I’m about 7 years younger than you, and glad I’m an ole fart that can fish during the week too!
Found a few nice flounder in Sabine Monday Tuesday and the run hasn’t started yet, waters still 80F.
Probably!

Would anyone be so kind as to how the water looks at Calcasieu?
It’s about an hour drive each way, sure would love to fish there Thursday this week.
Any help would be appreciated.
A month ago looked like the Mississippi River.
Thanks
Lou
Went back last week, so much fresh water in Sabine, we could pump straight to the house!
Never seen hydrilla veggie that far south! Coulda caught crappie and bass, but nothin there!
Wettest spring summer in a long time!

Very nice sunset, just great way to spend the afternoon
Hack,
I had 2 others at 19”, kept those. Released the 27”. Kept 4 flounder too. No trout though, but the beautiful peaceful evening compensated for that! Especially since I was expecting a mud hole to begin with!
Tremendous amounts of fresh water from Rayburn and Tbend, but not all the lake is messed up.
Chasing tailing reds is fun!
I’ve used the store bought belt that contains a rod holder for that purpose.
Also “Luck in the Bucket” on Hwy 365 too.
