I went to our park lake this morning. I needed the alone time. I got a few bites but it was slower than me trying to get out of bed. The temp was 85 at 0700. About 10 oโ€™clock I finally got a good bite and the short fight was on. It was a catfish which is what I figured it was. I stayed until noon, but nothing. The temp was 98 degrees and I was physically whipped. Anyway, hereโ€™s a picture of the only critter I caught, then released.

Checked off three ingredients of a relaxing time
1-worm 2-on a hook 3-under a bobber
Got a feeling, 4- comfortable chair and 5- prestocked cooler were there too.
Fish is a bonus. ๐Ÿ‘

Thanks Cam. No, not yet. Iโ€™d like to get over there late in the day. Maybe Iโ€™ll catch something worth bragging about.๐Ÿ˜‚

I know there's nice bass and gills, but haven't caught any catfish at all

Iโ€™m not really a catfish catching fisherman. I love to eat them but not skinning and all that. I use to run trot lines a lot when I was younger and camped out a lot and I got a gut full of cleaning them. No pun intended... The bass and gills sound great. Thanks.

Thank you BM. It was fun even if it was 90+ degrees. Iโ€™m going to try another place this evening. Cam put me on to it.

Glad to hear your report for the day. Yes indeed, these high temps can really drain you...no matter how much fun you are trying to have. Hopefully you were able to fish from under some shade! Nice snapshot of that cat!
