That’s quite the log your hoisting up on the photo. Great deep drop bait:-)

Thank you

And yes it would be.

I actually actually ended up releasing this one, believe it or not. He was very cooperative in the boat. I usually keep one and do a little shark fishing but we already had a small one and we’re dolphin fishing.

Currently set for Two Days really this is a shame. What do you guys think. I’m in north Florida east coast and throw back and actual have to move local spots to get away from them this is sad look at the Gulf side really.

This is what happens when our federal government runs things, they make laws based on their so called “science”.

NOAA is nothing but a Government hack when it comes to regulating fishing.

They take a shotgun approach to fishing regulations but call it science… even after data shows that huge areas do not fit the regulations that they impose. If they had their way we as Sportfisherman would not be able to keep anything.

Just my opinion

I and some friends are going down to Clak Hill crappie fishing 4/16 full moon week and would like some advise as to jig colors and etc. We are staying at Elijah Clark state park and would welcome any advice or suggestions. Thanks in advance!!

Jigs will work in your normal colors.
Chartreuse, white , red, etc…
If you want to cast over shallow areas for spawning fish, or tops of shallow brush piles.

Minnows over brush 4-15 ft deep has been the better bite of you find them.

Yes sir.

Wasn’t trying to be “that guy”

I love catching all the Grouper species. They all taste and fight good in my opinion.

Lol

Lot of trial and error. Mainly lots of time on the water. Started young with my dad/fishing teacher and became obsessed with it. Love taking people and showing them a good time. Especially the kids.

Good luck to you sir

Crappie, bass, bream and catfish. Have these species started to move to spawning grounds? Upper, mid or lower lake? Water temps in the 3 areas. Note. the ramp on Soap creek at 220 bridge is under water.

You will have a few going shallow but the majority will still be in pre spawn mode. I live on Lake Hartwell so Clark’s Hill spawn is normally just a little earlier.

FYI, don’t wait on the spawn for the best crappie fishing. I fish for crappie year round and guide part time, 25-35 trips a year to pay for my expenses.

After the lake does the “turnover” which is normally around November nowadays… fish brush or timber 12-20 ft deep over 20-40 ft of water, for daytime.

Night fishing is the best numbers, fish long points that drop off into creek channels, same depth as daytime. You must have bait around to catch numbers at night, you do not need any structure. If no bait is found on your sonar then don’t even anchor. Lights will pull the bait in then crappie will eat. Cast net the thread fin shad and the party is on. Took 2 party’s last Saturday and Sunday and caught over 200.

Just FYI

The best all around bait casting net, size, weight, etc.

All depends on what bait you are going after. The mesh size is also very important.

Threadfin shad on my lake are best caught with a 1/4-3/8 mesh, too big and you will gillnet them and kill em. Mine is a 10 foot with 1 1/2 pds per foot lead, 3/8 mesh. It’s made to throw once or twice and have your bait fit the trip. Catch my blueback herring, threadfin shad, in fresh and pilchards in saltwater with this net.

I have another net I Use with a bigger mesh 5/8 but same 10ft size when targeting gizzard shad, mullet, or ballyhoo.

All depends on your target bait. If you are inexperienced at throwing one then get only 6 ft net.
