I use Helly Hanson from Sierra trading company, great on budget. Simms is pricy but great quality, use fly fishing.
Try guiding on a local lake you are dialed in on. Lots of fishing friends on Craigslist that take you fishing for a fee
Stone fly with prince nymph dropper or whatever local shop recommends as trailer, Zebra, sow bug sparkle. Might try purple haze on top behind but stronefly will help it stay up.
Check local fly shop, pick up a few flies.
Learn to fly fish for trout, 5 weight rod&reel. C&R your fish, keep them in water as much as possible, taking the mucus coating of by handling damages them. If you use bait or spinners try one hook with barb bent. Keep only what you will eat. No “reds.”
