Well, unexpected events always seem to happen. They moved my wifes knee replacement up a few weeks, so I am gonna be nursing her for a spell. Gonna be interesting to say the least. Thanks to all who replied and a special thanks for the offers of eyeball meets and greets. My post has generated some very interesting discussion and comments concerning choices and senior life. My head is still trying to explode making a decision. After my wife gets up and at it, I will continue searching until something just jumps out and sez "take me home". Thanks again guys.

You are never too old. I fish with 2 friends that are 74 and 82. I have a Ranger Bass Boat 18' and my friends love it. Where do you plan to fish and what type of fish are you after? Get back to me and let me know. You can send a private message if you prefer.

FF.....I fish mostly catfish and occaisionally engage small and large mouth bass. I fish the lakes in the local southwest Ohio area, from the banks. Since I have retired, I want to do more, and I believe a boat or yak is in.my future. I have worked hard all my life and I intend to enjoy every minute I can. Wife of 52 years is on board too.
Starting to lean toward a boat but not positive. I drive a 2020 tacoma so that part is covered either way. Decisions Decisions. I really appreciate you guys passing along your thoughts.
Hi folks. First off I am 75 years old. I have been a bank fisherman since I was a child. I want to do some boat or kayack fishing. I am a big guy, 300 lbs and 6'3". I am reasnobly spry, have pretty good balance, and fairly good mental capabilities, except memoery sometimes. Waddya all think? Waited too long?? What is the reccomended ride?? Boat or kayack. (prolly john boat) Just trolling for some opinions. Thanks....
Some benefits apply. Over time I have collected all sorts of tackle, including sinkers, swivels, hooks, a box of hooks, leaders complete with swivel and hook, assorted lures and rubber tackle. I have also found two different real nice small lanterns, a pocket tackle wallet, a small minnow bucket, a small maglight, a super nice bait knife and scabbard, a bank card (that I destroyed) a few bobbers, a pair of regular pliers and a pair of needle nose pliers. And that is only what I can remember...all from the same area.....lolol

I keep a handfull of plastic grocery bags in my truck. I fill at least one every trip. What doesnt show in the pic is the dumpster 20 feet away. Way too far for these jizznoids to deposit trash into.
Found this at the lake this AM.......A good ass whoopin is in order....
And maybe an AA meeting....

Had a guy at produce stand the other day say we may not have any sweet corn this year cause spring planting was so wet.
Miss me some sweet corn
Ben....there is REALLY good produce at the little market at 235 and Chambersburg road in Fairborn. Their Sweet corn is delectable.
Been ruff fishing here with the 95 weather and all. Catfish seemed to have left town. Managed three carps tho. Two common and one grass. All about 15 pounds each. Caught by Spring Valley state park on pac bait. Back they went to grow some more.
I catch and release everything. I usually fish for cats, but do some salt and bass too. Once in awhile I will mix up some bait and dig out my method feeders and hunt carp. I caught a 30 pound grass carp a few weeks ago. I thought I had hooked moby. What a hoot on light gear. I dont know about eating them, but they are a blast to catch.
90 plus here in ohio. Bite was slow but managed a couple of cats and wife got her first striper. Not a bust, and better than working.
Actually I think the system is called method feeder. Check on you tube. There are a few thousand methods and recipies.
So far.....bought some made in japan X8 line. It is slick as a waxed speedboat. Still using my 12 foot heavy. Gave it a run this morning. Drag and braking minimum. Great results. Cast where I expected and no backlash or issues. The only thing, I had a huge hit and off he went. I thought he was gonna get my line to the end but when I tried to turn, he got off. Turns out he straightened my #2 hook. Oh well. Anyway thanks for all the help and comments.
30 pound carp on bait feeder. Also caught 10 more ranging from 10 to 25 pounds duringg 4 hours of fishing. Plus, five catfish about 5 pounds each on fresh shrimp. Good day of fishing. Ran out of bait and stamina. Went home for old man nap. A fun Monday.
