Thanks but I don’t like using live bait or trolling. Takes the fun outta it

Hey all I’m taking a 8 day fishing trip at the end of June to pocomoonshine in Maine. What are the smallies usually eating at this time up there? I just wanna be prepared. Thanks

Who here can tell me roughly what it might cost to do a complete calibration of my 2009 Mercury 50hp 2 stroke? I found a guy near me that has a lot of experience and great reputation. I just wanna make sure I’m not gonna get hooked by him. No pun intended lol. It’s my first ever boat. I am very mechanically inclined I’ve been a plumber for 25 years I am just nervous as I typically never hire anybody to do any work for me I always do it myself but I feel this will be money well spent. Thank you!

Is that common on just this motor or on a lot of them. My buddy has the same but a 4 stroke 2017 and he’s never had to do that

The weird thing with mine when I took it out yesterday sometimes I was able to start it up just fine without opening the neutral throttle and other times I had to.

I put a complete bottle of fuel stabilizer in a brand new tank of regular gas from the station. It turns out I have to hold the choke in for 15-20 seconds BEFORE starting the boat because it’s not giving the middle and bottom carbs enough fuel for the initial startup

Thanks guys. I actually was able to get it started today multiple times on the water. It turned out I had to push the key in for the choke for Atleast 10-15 seconds and that would start it sometimes. And other times I had to move the throttle in neutral to about half way and choke it for 5-10 seconds and it would start. I’m thinking an issue with choke not sending enough fuel to middle and bottom carbs. Once I got it started it ran great. I do have it going to my mechanic in a couple weeks for him to go through the entire motor.
