Hey all I’m taking a 8 day fishing trip at the end of June to pocomoonshine in Maine. What are the smallies usually eating at this time up there? I just wanna be prepared. Thanks

Shiners for live bait, and superdupers and roostertails for trolling.

Thanks but I don’t like using live bait or trolling. Takes the fun outta it

In late June they're eating almost anything fished slowly. The water is usually still very cold. If you are shore bangin' I'd go with a weighted worm or a jig and small trailer. If you pick up one, move a little deeper in the same area and increase the size and weight of your lure. If it's windy, which it often is, you haven't much choice: spinner bait or crank bait fished as slowly as your confidence permits. I know you don't want to troll, but given the number of islands in Poco you might just start out that way with a crank bait fished at at a low level of performance. Once you find "em, then still fish.
