There is a bait shop right across from the Eljobean pier. Nice guys and helpful. But mostly they use shrimp I have found. I stay at my daughter place close by sometimes

Hey captjim, how are from a former member of CSBA. Tarpon would be the top of the list, I’m in Florida now for a couple months but missed them again. Take care and say hi to Roger and All.

Are those yaks pretty stable? I’m looking for something light and easy to handle. Not young anymore😊

I’m right out of Bucksport and been out a few times with no luck. What lake are you fishing? Last time out the water was 47, maybe a bit cold.

When we go for multi day trip we all put in the same amount of cash in envelope and every thing is paid out of it. I’m the one with the boat and one reason I got it was to enjoy it with friends, so I’m ok with that.

Looking to buy a downrigger for a 16 foot boat. Just to fish local lakes here in Maine. Any suggestions or experience? Cannon or Scotty?

Been fishing in Alaska 15-20 times. I always enjoyed self guided trips. The best and most reasonable isCloverbay floating lodge out of Ketchikan. It’s Family owned, good food and rooms. Look them up.

Sacramento River, mouth of Horseshoe Bend. Butterflied shad, my fav striper bait.

My old stomping grounds, caught lots of stripers between there and Sherman lake. Nice catch!

I would say for fresh water it would be a wild Steelhead in a river, with fly rod
A 100 Halibut on a Salmon rod, at 250 feet is quite a thrill.

I fished that area for many years, until I move to Maine last year

If your trolling you can fish the West Bank all the way to Pittsburg. For Salmon a good bet is start around Vieras marina and go toward Sacramento. Can’t help if you don’t have a boat. Good luck
