Garden City Pier. Gotya plugs for blues and Spanish
Both are rainbows and from their colors, they have been in the stream for a while. Get a few more and you will have a great dinner. Add bake potatoes and steam some broccoli.
Hey Ozzie, do you ever fish up around Cherokee. I have fished the tribal waters and the hatchery supported waters around there.
Sorry those were eatin a couple weeks age. Had a big fish fry with fresh water trout, whiting, crappie and sea trout.
I live in Charlotte NC now, but I raised my family in Abingdon VA. Trout fishing below the South Holston Dam is fantastic. This small river is in Tennessee. Fly fishermanโs dream come true. My PR is a 10lb rainbow.
Try putting the line you are putting on your reel in a small bucket of water while spooling your reel. Make sure you put tension on the line. This might help.
Put a small marshmallow on the hook first, then put your salmon eggs on. This will float the eggs up off the bottom. I use a slip sinker and a leader just long enough to keep the bait out of the weeds if there is any on the bottom of the lake. I also use a needle to blow up a small piece of night crawler. Trout love them.

Alive and able to fight another day.
Thanks for the video.
Where in SWVirginia are you fishing? I lived in Abingdon for 16 years. Caught a lot of trout in Damascus. Try big night crawlers with a small weight about a foot above your bait. Allow your bait to bounce off the bottom. Also you can try some small crappie minnows. Hook them through the mouth and do the same with the weight and bouncing off the bottom. Iโve talked to some friends in Abingdon, they are saying that the water is real low. Itโs hard to catch trout in low, clear water. Try fishing some of the bigger rivers that the trout streams feed in to.
Good luck and keep trying. If you want to know where I fished, just let me know.
Might want to check the regulations concerning number of hooks that are allowed.
Fish tocos. The only way to go. ๐ด๐ด๐ด
I believe filleting your catch and placing them on ice will be your best method of keeping you fish fresh until you get home.
