Blue Ridge Fishing Report for Trout
Lots of nice trout fishing there....righ t outside Blue Ridge is the Toccoa R......from the dam all way to the NC / Tenn state line.....i enjoyed luck there with white streamers....5 wt floating line.....mornings best but listen up for warning sirens to announce dam opening and water flushing thru turning river muddy rising a few feet fast........rainbows and browns .....
I just put my cabin up there on market for sale.
Guide with float boat best bet for success...

This is Florida....gators and snakes are in almost every lake .....keep eyes open....including snakes on low hanging trees and bushes.

Head to Leesburg area for Harris chain of lakes.......or along the Gulf Coast for salt water....lake Tsala Apopka in Inverness....or go up to Orange Lake near Citra......

I have a cabin in Blue Ridge but health issues interfering with ability to get up there and use it right now.....but did ok on Toccoa in previous drift boat trips.

I suggest entry below dam east of town.....great fishing next 6 to 8 miles. Or put in at the midpoint takeout area....forgot name....paddle up stream a bit and fish drifting back.....

The suggestion of the Shimano 4000 sounds about right to me.....they are smooth and sturdy reels. Tight lines.....print photos......

We were there in 1960s....70s......stayed in old farmhouse overnight for " extra" $16 each....included full dinner that night plus a full shore breakfast and box lunch with honey dipped fried chicken for the day out on the boat......always caught fish off the 37 ft deadheads......good memories with my dad......

.used to fish with my dad withLevin Harrison out of Tilghman.....are they still in business? Caught a few nice strippers plus a bunch of blues with them......and they serve the best crab cake meals on the bay right out of their garden.......
