Back in the old days when I fished with my grandfather he would spray wd-40 on his night crawlers when he fished for catfish.
This also looks like the crappie rig I use for crappie fishing. I have used it for waleye fishing at Lake erie.
bleeding shinner rattle trap 1/2oz
not sure what type structure you have in the lake but a couple baits that always work for me are a 1/2 oz bleeding shinner rattle trap or a white and chartreuse spinnerbait.
I have used chicken liver for many years in lakes and rivers and I wrap plain old sewing thread around it and it holds very well. In the river I use shad cut up or store bought cut shad. Good luck and most of all have fun and enjoy fishing.
I have found that a bleeding shinner rattle trap and a KVD square bill crankbait (Tennessee shad color) works on almost any lake I have fished including some in Alaska.
without a doubt it was a 275lb halibut I caught in Cook's inlet in Alaska
I took my dog fishing wadding the river, walking the bank of the pond and out in the boat for 14 years and never had a problem. He was my best friend and companion and he died doing what he loved. So enjoy the time with your dog.
Hello, My name is Francis Brady and I live outside a little town in central Illinois called Lafayette,Il. I have fished for freshwater fish for 70 years and still enjoy it. In my younger days i fished tournaments but found that by "just goin fishing" was much more rewarding, especially if you take a kid fishing.
