You did good. Yamaha are so nice and sooo quiet. My 8 hp Honda kicker runs perfect but hard starting in the morning sometimes. It stalled once in 20 years. I was sitting on the fuel line!
No mercs for me!!

Hey, FNF you forgot a back seat so I could go with you. When I and my two brothers were + - 11 years old, we bought a used pontoon boat for $25 paper route money that was made from 15 gallon barrels that were wore thru on the bottom flanges. We turned the barrels over and went fishing. Even got our picture on the front page of the Minneapolis Star and Tribune sports section on fishing opener day. Those were the days! Kids made their own way.

I bought a spendy lithium battery operated bubba but I find it too large and bulky in the hand for finesse filleting.
I suppose it would be ok for larger fish (salmon etc) I use it only now for carving the thanksgiving turkey

Wow, I envy you. That one is on my bucket list. Thank you!! for releasing it to breed another day. One hint is to hold those big guys horizontally instead of vertical. They are so heavy that the neck vertebrae and gill structure can be seriously injured to the point of death. I like to weigh them in the net as I bring it out of the water and then photo them horizontal. Those big guys are not so good to eat. I have finally settled on eating under 5 pounders. The 18 inch pike taste very close to walleye.

The way i do it is to enter them into the computer God put on top of my shoulders. I forget most details in life but I can put a pencil mark on my favorite lake map of all the 49 tiger muskies that have come into my boat over the past two decades. I guess we remember the real important things in life!

First thing you ask the seller is what kind of gas he uses. If he has been putting in ethanol gas, then you can assume you will have to go thru the fuel system to get it to start and run good.
that's the first question my saw shop asks me when I bring something in.

Yes, all but the chocks vitamins got me too. We used aluminum tinsel instead of angel hair. Today's cellophane is awful but last time i checked on internet old boxed aluminum tinsel was $25/box, And back then we threw it intro the garbage when disposing of the tree.

I ran those old Johnsons back in the late 50s and 60s and always trying to start them and then constantly fiddling with the carb adjustment on front trying to get them to idle down. Frustrating. If he will keep them and call it square, I'd put the thousand towards a new honda or yamaha. Smooth running and ultra quiet. My Honda only stalled once on me. I was sitting on the rubber gas line!

Being a Harley rider also I couldn't wait to find the correct answer so I googled it:
Daimler and Maybach produced the first motorcycle in Germany made out of a wooden frame bicycle and a single
cyclinder motor that went 10 mph. I guess that makes my 1984 Electra Glide feel not so ancient after all!

The lake is in Pope county to help you get in.
The MDNR is still trying to make a walleye lake out of it with 3 million fry per year but if you go to the
fisheries survey the pike and yellow bullheads still rule the day just like back in the 50s.
